UAA sweeps Bulldogs?!

Post by scheids316 »

Lee, what happened?

I imagine you at least caught one game on TV. I know Anchorage is traditionally a tough place to play, with the long flight and all, but to get beat handly in both games? What's going on with your boys?

I always liked the UMD fans (except most of them who post on USCHO), so it would be a surprise to me if they turned on their team. Even us "arrogant, ignorant" Gopher fans don't do that. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Scheids
(A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

UAA's goalie played great, Josh Johnson cost UMD 2 goals. UMD outshot them 37-16. UAA's penalty kill was stellar. UAA simply didn't let them get into any rythym. UAA plays tough on their home ice, they play solid D and take advantage of their oppurtunities. UMD looked very frustrated last night. That's the report from Anchorage.

I was wondering when you were gonna weigh in on this one, Scheids <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Too early to panic. Remember the Gophers from last season and how they started? Not saying that the Dogs will recover and get a NCAA bid this season, because I have a few questions begging answers beforehand.

1. Does this team miss Hobey Lessard and Geisler more than they realized they would? Not necessarily from a numbers standpoint because the returning players numbers were still very high. Maybe from a leadership standpoint?

2. Can Sandelin get certain players like Rosehill to simmer down and stay out of the box so bloody much? UMD was worst in the league in terms of opponents power-plays per game before this weekend. I don't think this weekend helped.

3. Do they have guys that can bury their chances? The first few weeks showed that they can (Saturday night against Tech, Friday night against Kato). Or was this a fluke?

4. Will this team find their heart? Because they look a little mechanical out there. Something's missing. Enthusiasm? Drive? Something like that, perhaps.

I think they'll be fine but I thought they'd kick the junk out of UAA after what happened against Vermont.

Bout the fans; you know what happened as well as we do, if you follow the fan forum at uscho.com, which you obviously do, unless we're living in a Bizarro World and there's someone else using your name on that forum LOL

Gopher fans are still mainly bandwagon. Don't pretend it's otherwise.

NSSHG for President <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Lee

NSSHG?

Post by scheids316 »

Lee, are you admitting to being the infamous NSSHG?

If so, wow. I didn't see that coming.

Do you have season tix to the 'Dogs? Just curious. I've only been able to get to one Gopher game this year so far, and that was the 9-2 drubbing of Mankato, and if that's how they are going to play when I'm in attendance, I better make sure to get down there for the UMD series. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Funny, I have the opposite effect on the Twins. I'm not sure on the exact count but they are winless in at least the last 10 games I've been to.

Me at NSSHG..heh heh. Haven't drank in 22 years, myself. He's barely been alive for 22.

Yeah, we have a split ticket. We go on Saturday.

Man, I'm glad they have an extra week off now.

Lee

Lee,

Do you ever post on USCHO? Or do you just read the postings?

Good to hear that you and NSSHG are not one in the same. He's...interesting.

Gophs get a week off too, not so sure they need it, but rest is good, whenever you can get it.
Scheids
(A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

Scheids, on more than one occasion I've been tempted to register. But, knowing my posting style and history in Usenet groups, it'd become more trouble than it'd be worth to me. I'm too old for the Flamefest Of The Day. Used to enjoy it, tho. Years ago.

Gotta admit, tho, it'd be fun to jaw with Ciskie every now and then...not to mention Chris Long <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

So, for now, I'm just a lurker over there.

NSSHG...this was funny. Better half and I were at the Vermont game and I had actually just got done wondering aloud if he was in attendence when we heard this...VOICE...come booming across the DECC from Section 16.
Sure enough, it was him. His is a voice you don't easily forget.

Best part of the night was when he started chanting "awfully quiet" at the New Penalty Box. Fun night (other than the result) which, unfortunately, turned ugly with some of the other chants it deteriorated to. Guess the newbies in the PB need some senior guidance.

I wonder if Brown and SCSU will be the cure for the Dogs ails?

Lee
