Its not sounding to good from what I've heard on TV. He did make it through surgery and is recovering. We'll have to wait to see how he is when they release more info.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Pucketts

Oliva is quoted as saying he was worried about Puck's weight because everytime he saw him he was bigger and bigger.

Hope he pulls through

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Gaucoma and/or getting hit in the head by a pitch?

Highly doubt it. I'm guessing it has more to do with his weight and lack of excercise.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Your diet and genetics are the big contributors.

Smoking (tobacco use) is a big contributor, also.

Excercising will help to a point. I would guess his diet was the biggest factor wihtou knowing any family medical history.

No, I am not a doctor. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn back in December.

I miss him already

I loved Kirby Puckett as a player, but I really didn't like him much at all after he retired. I definitely wasn't ready to see him go though. We'll miss you Puck.

It is a sad day in Minnesota sports with the passing of one of the greatest to play in this state. He had some problems off the field, but he played the game with everything he had. He will be missed.

Hopefully Kirby Taught Us All Something

Definitely sad to see him go, but I do like watching all his highlights again. Hopefully this kind of thing opens up some eyes and makes some people realize that even at 45, lack of a good diet and excercise can catch up with ya.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls
