Ok boys lets face it, if each section made an all star team, section 8 would walk every other section in the state. Teams like Moorhead, Warroad, LOW, Roseau, East Grand Forks, TRF, the kids from those schools could take on anyone in this state. So what if Warroad didn't show up for one game this year. Orono played well and Warroad didn't, that is all. The depth of talent passes anything the rest of the sections could bring out to play with. Upsets happen and face it boys, Warroad was upset. Not to disrespect Orono because they should have won that game, but had Warroad came to play and not stand around, we would be saying look out cause Breck and Warroad are playing for it all, instead I hope Orono wins it cause I got to admit I loved the heart they showed in that game. Maybe all the winning Warroad has done the last two years hurt our heart. Maybe we started to just rely on talent when other teams are useing talent and heart. Good Luck Orono

Well SS , Thanks for passing along Bluesbudy"s message. Tell him Video, ChrisK and I missed him at Tom Reid's Friday before the semis. Videoscout bought beverages for all posters present, he must have spent a lot of dough. I led us in a short prayer session due to the fact that it was a Friday in Lent. We all had some fish. ChrisK was a library of informtion on high school hockey. Wish you could have been there. The Spuds took it to the Hounds pretty good. Id say they ....dominated. My prediction for tonight........pain. Over in Class A, there is no stopin the Catholic captains from Orono.

Section 3 champs are 52-7-1... And both played better schedules than the 8 A & AA champs. Shall we look deeper into the sections?? (Hill Murray, White Bear Lake, Mounds View, Roseville, Red Wing, Rochester Lourdes) Section 6 champs are 51-7-2, again, PROBABLY playing a tougher schedule (at least Wayzata did). Who exactly does Section 8 dominate??

My point was that you could take the section champs of just about any section A/AA and say they have dominated.... That is why they are in the state tournament... Believe me I was pulling for Moorhead tonight, and would have prefered to at least see a Warroad/Breck final... Come on be honest slappy, ALL the section champions dominated (OK, a few exeptions)... 8A/8AA were no better than any of the others.

Let's check out this section 8 dominance statment: Warroad couldn't beat the 2nd place team in the tournament. Yes! they definately dominate class 'A" Moorhead : Lost to Centennial for the 2nd time in a month. Yes! They definately dominate "AA" What do Breck and Centennial have in common? METRO TEAMS! You can wish all you want up there pinhead your teams are not even close anymore!

Section 8 dominates ? Class "A" : Five of the last 6 years the champion has come out of section 5, I think that kinda settles the domination issue in class "A" Class "AA" : Blaine, Elk RIver, AHA, Anoka, Centennial. These are the past 5 State Champions, funny I do not see any section 8 team on this list!

Pick the section winners 3 months in advance, a few sections yes, but the fact you or anybody, could predict Warroad and Moorhead 3 months in advance has a whole lot more to do with how weak 8AA/A really were, not how great those top teams were. That said, had Warroad not decided that they could just hang their jerseys on the ice and that would be enough to beat Orono, you might have had a shot at Breck. Then who knows. Moorhead was probably the best skating team in the tournament, Sarsland exposed their weakness; defensemen, that when pressured, struggle with the puck. Dump and chase maybe out of favor, but Centennial did it well enough to keep the Spuds stuck in their own end enough to win it. Their other glaring weakness was that they didn't seem to realize that pretty goals count the same as scrambles, SHOOT the PUCK!!! By the way, are you a politician Slapshooter? Such graceful backpeddling from a particular stance can only come from a professional.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> Moorhead was a great team, unfortunatley they got beat by the only one better, tough luck (again). Seriously...you guys just dont get it. The cities dont dominate as much as you say. I would like to point out that the state championship was even, not a Centennial domination. So seriously, youre an idiot if you sit and claim the Cities teams are so much better than the north. 2 of the 8 sections have northern teams. Therefore, you can expect 2 northern teams in the tournament ever year. Therefore, northern teams should win AA about 1 out of 4(25% for my math major friends out there) years. They won in 99(Roseau) and 95(Duluth East). So instead, theyve won 2 of the last 10(20% for all you college hockey players). Thats not that far off from the the expected number(especially since they have moved some Minneapolis teams up into northern sections a couple of times(Elk River being the main one). Lets see, the difference between 20 and 25 percent can simply be negated by next years tournament. We shall see.

Remember pagestat2? Three of the top ten were Section 8 teams and you all blew a gasket when you saw that didn't ya? You ever see TRF?, EGF, LOW? St. Cloud Tech? or any of the rest of section 8 this season? Class A ranked high in the ratings and did as well in their performance and still you refuse to give them any real respect even though record attendance occured at the Xcel this year despite your efforts to squash Class A hockey in the minds of anyone foolish enough to take your word for it. You insult at the very least, half of the Minnesota High School Hockey league in doing so, and whatever it takes to expose the fallacy of your philosophy in regards to the same is part of what I'm here to do and it's been a ton of fun doing it. Maybe you and your chronies should have lobbied a little harder to get rid of me back in 2002 but you didn't, so here I am again. You've spent a lot of time trying to put your words in my mouth, and your actions in my deeds, and you were not alone, but I've had my eye on your misgivings from the start. Moorhead and Warroad were the best teams in the state Class A and AA this season and that is my opinion and despite the outcome of the state tourney, hasn't changed a bit! Lake of the Woods could have won it too but fortunately for Breck neither one had a chance to prove it. Good for Breck! A private school from which much time was spent over the years setting you and your chronies straight in regards to their value ( the private schools that is) to Minnesota High School Hockey and what they add to the quality of the league. You keep it up and there will be many more like me ready to teach you the respect for these programs that you have still yet to learn and if you continue to insist on the hard way, then the hard way it will be for you! I like Centennial! They play a great game but have failed to take away one iota of the Talent and Class from the Moorhead 'Spuds' and their program that I have sought to reveal to the finer folks of this great state of Minnesota and beyond.
