Rochester Mayo was ranked #1 in the state at the beginning of the year but lost the opener to Rochester Century and now I have noticed that they have lost a couple of games since. They have a couple of great players. One has signed to play in Missouri next year.

"my wife tells me I am pathetic with how much high school hockey I go to."

The A's won the national championship in '03, they beat us in extras for the state title. They were very good. Pitching, defense, hitting, and they were classy. They're not as good as they were then, but they are a good team year in and year out. The Rochester Redhawks legion team is usually pretty solid. They had a kid named Matt Meyer go to Boston College a couple years ago and now have a kid named Aaron Senne who could get drafted. Rochester fields good teams.

Stangler

Post by 2AhockeyOldTimer »

Melrose's Adam Stangler set the state record for consecutive games with a hit. Doing this in the best Class AA conference is quite the accomplishment.

I've played against this kid and he's a pretty good ballplayer (obviously). He's never gotten any hype and has always been overshadowed by other great players in the conference.

Congrats to Adam.
Taylor Mattson-The Next Non-Mr. Hockey

the big nine and section AAA are some of the best in the state....some may knock the south in hockey but in terms of baseball its great and there can be no complaints

Grand Rapids suffers its frist loss of the year 9-8 to Moorhead. Then defeats Dillworth-Glyndon-Felton 3-2. Then lose again to Fargo North 6-4. Greenway shuts out defending section champs, the Chisholm Bluestreaks 3-0. Joe Swann pitched a one hitter and hit a home run.
Grand Rapids-2006 State Runner Up
