Competition wasn't as good this year? I don't know why you would say that unless it is because you didn't win. Remember this team in a few years, and promise me that if some players come from this team and make it big. You will never comment on hockey again!

BEST PWEE A TEAMS

Post by EGOPHERP »

That Jefferson team with Crowley was good and had a great record. I don't know if the competition this year was as good or not as in previous years. Take a look at the Edina peewee A team who finished 3rd in the state. Now if they are a true number 3 team, you think they could have knocked off Eden Prairie atleast once in 5 games. I would not put the 2000 Edina team in with the EP and Bloomington team and was Hagemo as soft when he was a peewee or did he become a big baby after peewees. All I can say for Ryan Thang is ....well...he's got a little tang.

I saw the 05-06 Eden Praire team play this year. The 75 White Bear Team would have physically beat the pulp out of them !!
Final score WBL 75-- 5
EP 06---- 1 Late meaningless goal

great peewee a hockey teams

Post by dddddddude »

You need to try shock treatment, I think if you asked almost anyone who played 30 YEARS ago you'll find that they think todays players are bigger, faster, shoot harder and are overall more skilled now than then. Different eras shouldn't be compared. The accomplishments of many teams over the years are incredible but I find it hard to believe there were teams any better than Jefferson in thier hay day. No peewee team in our states history would have consistantly clobbered the 05-06 EP team. Rather than choose I like to think it would have been a treat to just see them play one and other.

ep 05 06

Edina 2000 team was much better then this years E.P. team. Hagemo would've dominated the entire team like he did all of 2000. Also Thang, Matt Andres, Justin Milo... oh add Joe Finley (only playing as an 18 year old for North Dakota)

The 2000 team might not have been as good as the Budish lead 2004 team.

I think all of those teams are great but the 2000 Edina team seems like they had 5 amazing players who scored all their goals. EP didn't have any 100 goal scorers or kids who can win a game by them selves. (except for maybe Rau or McCartan) EP seemed to have more depth.

Yeh, I agree too, and if EP wasn't the greatest all time, then the 05-06 Edina team certainly isn't.

I've been around long enough to know. The mid-late 80's Jags were the best crop to ever hit the ice. Speahar and the group from up north come in a distant 2nd.
