East vs. Moorhead

Post by east hockey » Fri Mar 12, 2004 10:20 pm

What's up with this? I get home from watching tUMD bleeping lose to Mankato and nobody has even started a thread on the game?

Well, 3-0 Spuds. One nice thing about getting your brains beat out, you can relax and sit in somewhat neutral observation of it.

Ooops...4-0. What's that Dandy Don would sing on Monday night football?

Lee

East-Goodbye!

Post by hawksrock0304 » Fri Mar 12, 2004 10:53 pm

Wow, it was so fun sitting in the basement with my fellow grandrapidian friends singing "nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey...goodbye, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey! And it was only in the second period (5-0 Moorhead as I'm typing this.) Good effort East, but see ya next year.

Moorhead 6, East 3

Post by east hockey » Fri Mar 12, 2004 11:22 pm

Props to Moorhead for advancing to the State Championship. Props also to East for not rolling over and giving up when the Spuds had them down 5-0 after two periods. The kids came out and skated their butts off in the third period and almost made it interesting.

Sets up a great final tomorrow night between Moorhead and Centennial. If Moorhed plays like they did in the first two periods tonight, it should be a final worth watching.

Again, congrats to Moorhead.

Lee

Lee,

I agree. East came out and kept pushing in the third; they didn't let Moorhead coast, and I like to see that. Man, the Spuds can be SO fast. It really should be a great one tonight.

As for UMD, Wisconsin and Denver went down as well. Things may change tonight though.

Well, if the Hounds were going to lose, I'm glad it was to another northern team. Sets up one heckuva final tonight. The Class A title tilt at noon should be a good one to watch, as well.

As I've said before, fun stuff. But jeez, I can't believe that in ten hours it'll all be over until next November?? Seems like we were just talking about what and who to look for in the section tournaments.

The older I get, the faster time flies. There's something basically wrong in that <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Lee

I agree, the 7AA final should be a dandy next year. Rapids should be as good if not better with a lot of good young talent with a year under their belt. Plus the first line should be very good next year. I think a lot of people are mistaken if they think losing Goligoski is gonna seriously hurt this team. He'll be missed, but Rapids will still be tough. Watch out for Patrick White next year.

Indiansforever, I tend to agree with you on this. Losing Goli will hurt Rapids, how could it not? However, they have plenty of returning firepower. At a quick glance, I see them and Cloquet being strong next year. East will have to reload with a truckload of seniors graduating. This may be a better test of how good their new coaching staff is.

Lee

The way Lee constantly comments on the "new" coaching staff and has yet to give them much credit, it makes me wonder if Randolph happens to be a cousin or something. Kidding!
