ER/Moorhead Series

In my opinion, one of the best series in minnesota hockey right now. <br><br>it looks like its expanding to other sports also though: ER girls hockey beat moorhead for the section championship, ER girls basketball beat moorhead in semis, ER and Moorhead boys basketball face off tonight to go to state, and of course the quarterfinal OT thriller that moorhead pulled out. <br><br>both sides of this series also are very classy towards eachother, which sometimes can get lost during rivarlies. <br><br>Great job to both teams, make it back to the big show next year! <p></p><i></i>

Excellent post. Although being from Elk River and how stubborn I am, I don't like to be classy about these Spud guys. I love to hate them...ya know. I'm 100% anti-Spud...and cheer for their downfall after beating Elk River. <br><br>But...in the end...hats off to a good hockey program, and the surplus of talent they bring to the table each year. Without heated rivalries like this...the game wouldn't be the same.<br><br>Too bad they didn't win this year...I could have added another trophy to my collection... <p></p><i></i>

I agree with both posts. I grew up hating Moorhead (cheered for them when they had Cullen) and still do. I like how the rivalry has spread to other sports. I must give props to Moorhead though, they are always very gracious losers. JK, they are very classy fans and athletes. amen empire, thats what makes this rivalry so great. even though i've learned to hate the spuds, its all left on the ice.<br>There's a good chance for a rematch next year; both teams are in the Xcel Capital City Classic, and they could possibly meet again in state.<br> verb - the cent players won enough trophies this year... take your pick<br> <p></p><i>Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ...
