Holy Angels (different topic not controversial)
I don't know if this has been talked about or not, I try to stay away from Holy Angels threads because I always say the wrong thing <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> but heres the question: Why doesn't Holy Angels turn into a Shattuck type hockey program? Screw the high school league so you don't have to follow their stupid rules, play 70 games a season, and play better competition. AHA attracts enough good players already to do this and with a Shattuck type program and schedule they will attract even more good players. There must be some reasons or maybe they are thinking about it. Any info or opinions would be great.

I kind of like the idea of winning the state tourney. Not to mention, its not like they win it every year. they are not totally dominant like you are making them out to be.

Ok....
I don't think they are dominant. I'm saying it could be a lot more beneficial for their program in the long run. Do you think Shattuck was the force that they are right when they started out? Probably not but I guarantee they are happy with the program they have now. The players would develop more playing in more games against better competition. I really believe there is a market for a "metro shattuck". The only thing they would give up is the state tourney....and that is a big deal for hockey players in minnesota. Keep in mind this is just an idea and I'm just throwing it our there for discussion....

Re: Ok....
The other problem is a lot of these kids play multiple sports, and are in other school programs. If they play 70 games this would eliminate the opportunity to be in other organizations. The other point is AHA is a high school first, these kids are there for an education. I do not see them going this route, but you never know.
________________________________
2002 & 2005 STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Shattuck is a college prep school, that majors in hockey<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> . I think there is room for another Shattuck, but I dont know that AHA would want to be that. There's more to AHA than hockey.

AHA
I know Shattuck is more than just hockey. The players go through a vigorous academic workload. Shattuck also excels in many other sports and fine arts. If this were to happen it wouldn't take away any of the other things that go on.
