PArise vs. Vanek

Post by dandill15 » Mon Mar 14, 2005 9:41 pm

great question, its tough because parise works his ass off at both ends of the ice and puts up pts but ehs small while vanek goes half ass but of all players drafted he has the best offensive talent other than ovechkin and hes big so vanek has more potential so prolly vanek

The offensive player with deceptive speed. Superb stickhandler with long reach and good vision.
Raw skills and understanding of the game are top notch.

My pick is Vanek as well.

I know, I wasn't crediting the description as mine.
What I was going for was confirming his prospective profile, what better than to use hockeysfuture.com's official player profile resource.

Nice catch haha, I am impressed that you could acknowledge the origin of that player description.

Both of these guys I would love to have on my team! If I could only have one I would take Parise. Parise makes everyone around him better, he can create, Vanek needs help around him. But it all depends on what type of team you have. Parise would be the perfect guy to center someone like Vanek. Parise loves to dish the puck and Vanek loves to bury it.

Parise vs. Vanek

Nicely put, Parise and Vanek are different styles, hard to compare,Overall I would take Parise because of is work ethic and positive influence on the rest of the team, he leads by example and works so hard every shift, he's a more complete player, where vanek is a sniper and goal score, they should put them on the same line.

My pick:

Thomas Vanek - So skilled, great hands, can play the body as well. He was blast to watch at the "U." Can you imagine how good the Gophs would be next year w/Vanek in his senior season? Irmen, Potulny, Goli, Hagemo, Chucko, R.J. Anderson, Wheeler, Hirschy, Thomas Vanek? They woulda been unstoppable! But even w/o Vanek, they Gophs will be extremely good in the next couple years will all of the talent they are slated to have (Kessel coming in 2 years).

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ock0304 at: 3/14/05 11:47 pm

That would be tough, since 2 years from now would have been Vanek's 5th year at the U.
Scheids
(A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

VANEK, Why is this a question? Did a relative of Parise start this? No one else would even compare the two. Parise= College Star->Pro prospect->Beer League Champion

I have to go with dandill on how he compared Vanek and Parise. If you want a dedicated, hard worker then take Parise. If you don't and want a guy that will float around but is very talented, take Vanek. I guess as far as NHL goes, Parise might have it better just because of his work ethic.

Parise or Vanek?

Post by minnesota4hockey » Tue Mar 15, 2005 8:28 pm

if i had to choose between these two... easy choice thomas vanek... i think you could ask any division 1 coach and they will all say the same thing about thomas vanek... "he's one of the only pure goal scorers... meaning he's one of very few that can take the puck down the ice and score everytime" Bill Howard, University of Wisconsin... not discrediting Zach Parise... but then again i'd rather have Sydney Crosby over either of these two.. just my opinion
