Tri Citys Potentiol

Post by StarsHockey21 » Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:15 pm

Does tri city have the potentiol to be a #7 seed this year in section 3 aa after a disapointing 2-23 season...returning 17 players and in maybe an easier confrence moving from metro aliance into totinos confrence...anybody see them winning more than 10 games next year....and what does everybody think abou irondales chances next year...(no flames please)

In my opinion, I don't think either Irondale or Tri City will get a 7 seed. Stillwater, North, and Mounds View will still be in those positions of 5,6,7. I can't see them being lower then that anytime soon.

My predictions for seedings next year:

1. WBL
2. H-M
3. Centennial
4. Roseville
5. Stillwater
6. North St. Paul
7. Mounds View
8. Irondale
9. Tri-City

hillfan are you aware of tri city returning 17 letter players from last year and irondale is losing 13 seniors...right now i think tri city is in a better position...have you seen either play before?

No flames, but i don't see Irondale with anything at all. Their Youth program is in a shambles and the past 2 coaches (before this one) hurt the program. Will they keep the little talent they have next year?

They may have a large club returning, but just with the way I've seen them in the past, I still am going to give the edge to other teams.

--Stillwater is a very large, growing community. They now have Phil Housley under their coaching job, so that should attract the interest of some players who think about transfering to different programs like H-M.
--North has a pretty decent size community as well. They'll return some young talent in Ben Arnt, and goaltender Tom Horner. Usually the Polars always put up a halfway decent team, and I can't see them falling apart next year. Will they be down? They should be a bit, especially since they lost their top line. Still, they'll be a 6 or 7 seed.
--Mounds View should be right around North's level next year, the 6 or 7 seed(IMO). I know they had a decent offense this year that could score, and they'll return a couple of those players.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... I didnt want to start a new thread for this, but how many guys does Stillwater have returning for Housley to work with? And, how good are the returners?

Tri City

Starshockey,

Your team is returning 17 players and Moorhead is losing 15 players this year......so does that mean that Tri-City will be better than Moorhead next year? No. Sure they may have a lot of players returning, but they are missing a key comoponent.....talent, they don't have any. Wasn't this their goalies first year skating? You just can't have that in high school hockey and expect to be succesful. If the stars win 5 games next year they could call it a good season.

they had a first time ever skated goalie playing against still water and only lost 10-0 but was plagued with injuries all season long...starting goalie only played 5 games all year and they had a freshman in net all year long...i garuntee 5 wins next year..no doubt about it

It looks like they lose only 2 defensemen, and 5 forwards who will all graduate. Stillwater has a very good youth program, as they mostly always have had. Now with Housley in there, I'm sure he'll draw the interest of more players that come up. I know players like Josh Gunderson(sophomore) who had a good season, was thinking of going to H-M. After he saw Phil would be there, he changed his mind and stayed at Stillwater.

Stillwater might not be too bad next year, I'd say the 5 or 6 seed in 3AA.

not to rain on anyones parade but, Tri-City returning 17 players still wont get them out of the quarterfinals. Yes, it will be a great step up for their program for not being last in the section every year though.
The curse lives on.....

Starshockey- Potential? 2-23 with most of their players returning, who cares. These same players might lead them to 5 wins instead of 2. If these guys only won 2 games they have to be a pretty bad group, it would be better if they would just graduate. My prediction next year 5-20, what a turnaround! Im Out!

my view

Post by gunslinger » Tue Mar 15, 2005 5:13 pm

I went and watched Irondale and tri city play in the sections.... Im going to say this the nicest way I know... Tri-City is TERRIBLE... they had a kid that couldnt even skate backwards playing D...... And honestly does it really matter what seed they get... They wouldnt win over some of the junior gold teams... B that is!

Saw Tri City play this year once and they got IT handed to them. Roseville won the jr. gold tourney and yeah they would beat Tri city. Not a doubt in my mind. id say 5-3 final

Well, we'll see how it goes. It really won't matter anyways, the highest spot they can probably get is 8, which really won't make much of a difference. Look at the section they are in....
