Ohshie In Warroad?

Post by pse44 » Fri May 20, 2005 8:40 am

Rumor has it that Mr. Oshie is done at Warroad after this year? any truth to that. Is he leaving on his own or is there no spot for him anymore. I hear he is shopping himself around to other schools in the area. Was his contract terminated with the other cuts up in Warroad.

It appears that Tim Oshie is looking to either be closer to TJ at Grand Forks, or may move back out west. I believe that his position (teaching) is a grant position and not tied directly to the budget cuts in Warroad. From what I hear he did a great job in Warroad both in the classroom and with the Junior Varsity. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

So Warroad will be needing to replace Oshie in this all important position that he held coincidentally while his son played for the Warriors.

I WILL ADDRESS THIS AGAIN. TIM OSHIE DID NOT HAVE A JOB WHEN HE MOVED TO WARROAD. SHORTLY AFTER HE CAME HERE THE PERSON WHO HAD THE JOB MOVED OUT WEST AND SINCE IT WAS A INDIAN ED JOB HE WAS A EASY CHOICE TO WORK WITH INDIAN KIDS, [IF YOU KNOW HIM AT ALL] YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT. HE CAN LEAVE IF HE WANTS OR STAY IF HE WANTS. ITS NOT THAT GREAT OF A JOB. HE IS A AID IN THE INDIAN ED DEPT. HE WAS A GREAT JV COACH AND COULD COACH AT A HIGHER LEVEL SOME WHERE ELSE. HE DID BEAT MOORHEAD'S JV TEAM, WHICH WAS UNBEATEN IN SOMETHING LIKE 78 GAMES.

SO?? Maybe a little to convenient tho. All of a sudden he is done after his son graduates. Look at it at from both sides and it doen't look good. Good for him if he is moving on and bettering himself and family.

They say God loves a cynic and it looks like you are in good .
shape. Are you looking at it from both sides? Tim would be done only if he decides he is done.

Coach Oshie

Post by trojans45 » Tue May 24, 2005 9:22 am

The Oshie' came to Warroad in a 2-fold reasoning. First, for TJ to experience was has been labeled as the greatest experience in hockey .. to play Minnesota HS hockey.

With this, knowing Warroad's storied history and his families heritage and success, to follow in the footsteps of his lineage. He has made the most of that opportunity winning 2 MN State Class A titles and earning a scholarship to play for the U of ND Fighting Sioux Men's hockey team for the 2005-06 season. On top of that, to help lead and guide the Warriors to their best season of all time at a 29-0-2 record.

Secondly, to learn more about his Ojibwe heritage and the way his family grew up. Warroad is a such place. It's a shame people take so much hatred towards the community and the sports they play.

Mr. Oshie has worked in the Indian Education program for Warroad Schools #690 since his arrival. He did not have that job when he moved here. He was given the job a couple weeks after their arrival.

Now, TJ and Coach Oshie are looking at moving to the Grand Cities in the summer of 2005. TJ, to don the Fighting Sioux uniform, and Mr. Oshie to seek new and fresh opportunities that provide more stable economic success.

I hope these answer your ?'s. It was a 3-year commitment by both. And they both have made the most of their stint in Hockeytown, USA.
