boys in baby blue and why no jv tournament?

Post by auggie09 » Thu Feb 13, 2003 12:42 pm

since this nwhky guy feels obligated to up his all star team i guess i should back my alma matar a little. these guys can really play the game, their 21-2-1 record against real teams is there to show for it. Besides that, they have had mostly the same team the whole year with the exception of #9 and #17 who play varsity now and #16, #3, #8, #7, and #5 who have all seen some varsity ice that i have seen. i don't know the numbers on the powerplay but just about everytime i watch them they put in a goal or two, pretty tic tac toe passing. I love to watch this team play because their average player is probably 5'7 140. no size to this team but speed like you wouldnt believe. When they squared against EP it was one of the most entertaining games i have seen all year, varsity included....and both of their varsity squads have the record to call them a good team. Why is there no season ending tournament for these guys? I know some get called up for varsity tournament time but i would love to see how deep some of these teams are when they lose their top 2-3 scorers, i would love to have someone to step up and get something together in the coming years....any thoughts?

Auggie - Who did the Jags lose to and tie? Who do you think are top JV squads from what you've seen? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o">

Need end of year tourney for JV

Post by nwhky » Sat Feb 15, 2003 11:33 pm

No doubt about it we need one. How does a record of 68-0 not impress? Is there another AA JV team undefeated two years running? MHD JV's 68-0 Train kept rollin to a perfect season x 2. Oh yea!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

you know i made it to about half of the jv and varsity games this year and the better ones that i saw were EP and the WBL in the CCC, and then Valley, Hill Murray, East...those three were pretty good. I tried to make it to the better varsity games but a lot of the teams didnt have great jv showings this year...I/E Elk River, Eastview, and Kennedy didn't have good showings when there varsity all played better than expected. What have you seen? are these moorehead guys for real? gotta respect a 66-0 record but an undefeated team hasnt happened in the lake by any team in 10 years. If there were to be a 'state' for jv, what 8 would be invited?

moorhead jv

How many of these JV players for Moorhead got to have some Varsity Ice time. Roseaus JV was not nearly undefeated but we were known as the "Sweep Stoppers". In other words, we kept the teams we were playin from sweeping our jv and varsity. My point is, our jv team this year was 10-16-1 with 8 of our losses coming from overtime, 2 killings from moorhead, a loss from greenway, and a loss from trf. I dont remember who the other losses were from. This was pretty impressive for our jv team since our varsity was 6-alot-2, and NOBODY on our jv team moved up to varsity to play in the games besides our goalie, who just opened the doors. Anyway, Moorhead was good, better than roseau, but i think roseau did pretty good too.

Playing high school hockey in Illinois, we had a JV state tournament. Things are a bit different there in that there are no sections, just one big bracket. I like the idea of a JV tournament because eventhough the kids are playing for a spot on the varsity roster, having a tournament at the end of the year gives them another driving force.

i dont thik Jefferson JV is very good this year... The Varisty is not very deep in skill either they only have Josh Levine and Tommy O'Donnell. They are both amazing, but cannot win every game by themselves

jefferson's JV lost to lakeville north 4-3 in OT, north had two goals by ryan diamond and two by ryan gothmann including the game winning..jefferson's JV isnt even good this year. there are probly 3-4 other teams in the lake that are just as good
