GivenYaThe Business Prophecy Section 8A Playoffs
The Prophet has spoken "Crookston over Roseau 4-2 (empty netter) Then Crookston over Warroad... " I say the prophet is onto something, Pirates win in a thriller 2-1 over Warriors

I've been telling everyone for a few months now, Warroad's defense is just too sound...period. I'm a ram fan but i've seen this almost exact warrior team for the past 3 years and they're not going to give up hardly anything. Defensively, goaltending, and even back-checking forwards are the keys to Warroad's success. Crookston is good offensively, don't get me wrong, even their defense can score and make a difference on the board, but i still stand by my word...Warroad will take this game 4-1 with a empty netter in the last 3 minutes. Good luck to both teams, and to the winner down at state!

Prophecy
I'm with the Prophet on this one. The Pirates are equally as strong on the blueline and have the best scoring punch in Marlee Wheelhouse. C-town will win in a close one 3-2. Congratulations to both teams on a very successful season. The PRO will be traveling up to Roseau to watch Crookston hockey history in the making. GO PIRATES
Sorry about that, i didn't clearify myself on this one. When i meant the same team, i didn't mean the same varsity team, i meant the same players put together since they won state at the 14U level two years ago. They've played roughly the same type of hockey since then and have proven that they can shut down an offense. Sorry about the misleading comment.GivinYaTheBusiness wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong here, but don't you think the loss of Gigi Marvin and Holly Roberts (not to mention Dunkel and Mosher) are rather significant losses??kvats12 wrote:...almost exact warrior team for the past 3 years...
I don't know how good Brockmeir is, haven't really payed that close attention, but if she's not worth 3 goals, how would she have helped in the 3-0 loss to Warroad in their last meeting?Cowboy1 wrote:Crookston was without Brockmeir the last time these two met. Without her Crookston is a 1 line team. Like I said before the Roseau game, Crookston needed a few loses to refocus. I take Crookston 4-2.
Well pay close attention tomorrow Crookston has a core shell of 6 very good players. 2 of which play defense, so that leaves 4 forwards if 1 of the girls out of this core is gone, that leaves a weak 2nd line, making them overwork the first line. I am not saying Brockmeir is worth 3 goals, what I am saying is that 1 core player missing from this team IS worth 3 goals because it affects the team as a whole.

Case and point.....last night, Brockmiere made that second line shine!Cowboy1 wrote:Well pay close attention tomorrow Crookston has a core shell of 6 very good players. 2 of which play defense, so that leaves 4 forwards if 1 of the girls out of this core is gone, that leaves a weak 2nd line, making them overwork the first line. Well, i know this game will be a great one. Crookston will have the chance of making history on their minds. Warroad will have redemption on their minds of getting back to state and getting what they deserved last year. Good luck to both teams. BTW, i know crookston fans won't like it much, but who ever is at the game will have to let me know if the Roseau girls hockey team is cheering for Warroad. And does Crookston have a FM radio station that broadcasts this game? My MP3 player only picks up FM and i don't feel like sitting in my car in the parking lot for 2 hrs!! lol

Good luck to the Lady Pirates tomorrow night and especially to the big cuddly teddy bear. I can hardly wait to see this hunk of a man on FSN leading the Pirates at State. Go Teddy & Go Pirates

This game is being broadcast on the world wide web, per KROX radio.kvats12 wrote:Well, i know this game will be a great one. Crookston will have the chance of making history on their minds. I believe Roseau will be cheering for Crookston. I heard a few of the parents saying it while leaving the arena. This is going to be a killer of a game, though. Best of luck to both teams. It's hard to predict who will come out on top of this game, even though Crookston has Roseau on their side, fans don't win games.kvats12 wrote:Well, i know this game will be a great one. I really don't know who's parents you were talking to but i know from experience in the past that this age group of girls and parents from Roseau and Warroad have cheered for each other. It may be a bitter cheer but they still do. Several of these girls play with each other in the offseason and are even friends. But like most situations, there will probably be some cheering for either side, how many depends on who's watching, a Warroad fan, or a Crookston fan! Good luck to both teams.badger69 wrote:I believe Roseau will be cheering for Crookston. I heard a few of the parents saying it while leaving the arena. This is going to be a killer of a game, though. I know it's a little late, but I'm going to start a new thread with a poll on it for this game so people can vote and post updates on the game.

Prophecy Fullfilled
Congratulations to the Crookston Pirates and the big Teddy Bear on their section 8A championship victory. Best of luck at State Sounds like the local PD gave them a flashing light escort back into town from Marcoux Corner. Teddy was singing all the way back to C-town "We are the champions". Teddy if you need any help with how to dress, do your hair, carry yourself, ect. I hear E.S. has experience with this. GO PIRATES

Re: Prophecy
I hate to quote myself but I told you so by the PRO. I was in hockey town Thursday night and was able to watch Crookston hockey history in the making. For this I thank you. Congratulations Pirates & good luck at State. You see Roseau is the original town of hockey just ask the French Canadian announcer I tell you me. You have earned the title of section 8A champions and only 3 games lie between you and a State Championship. Keep focused and take one step at a time and you will reach your goal. I understand that a very dedicated parent has volunteered to a sheering at the team send off, I hope that he realizes that this could be very instrumental to the girls success. Don't worry xel, this one is for the team. GO PIRATESnorthlandpro wrote:I'm with the Prophet on this one. From what I've heard throught the grapevine, the "sheering" is a big misunderstanding.
