Seeding meeting should be interesting with Bemidji heading to Class A...my early top 5 predictions look like this:

1.) Roseau
2.) Brainerd
3.) Moorhead
4.) Tech
5.) Buffalo

I like boblee's early predictions. Buffalo should be stronger then Brainerd and Tech needs a goalie to step up.

Is the St. Cloud Alliance dead now that Apollo is A?

You guys forgot 6-8

I see a rematch Buffalo vs Tech only this time @ NHC

I totally agree with you boblee. Roseau is going to be tough to beat next year. Im really worried about what Moorhead will look like next year after losing so many seniors. Buffalo will be strong this year. I also think Brainerd needs to find a goalie next year if they want to be successful. It should be intresting to see how it all pans out.

The real kicker to your question was when the ring leaders in Bemidji decided to go "A". The Alliiance didn't have any muscle once they bolted.

As much as I hate to say it (that was for fam'r), Buffalo should be pretty strong this year with a very good senior tender and some solid returning varsity players who now have some experience. I may even be pulling for them this season in more then a few games.

#1 Roseau - no question.

#2 Moorhead - strong program - always have depth and a stud or two.

#3 Buffalo - some good returning players.

#4 Brainerd - depends on how quick the young guys learn the varsity game and goaltending.

#5 Saint Cloud Tech - Could surprise #3 & #4. But cannot get by both Moorhead and Roseau.

#6 Monticello - will have a good year that will help them with the future.

#7 River Lakes - not far behind Monti but will struggle.

#8 Becker/Big Lake/Milaca - Will struggle even more.

#9 Crosby-Ironton/Aitkin and some others - will struggle the most.

Bemidji - on the outside looking in. If they do not get to section finals in Section 8A, it will all be for nothing. Will be AA in 2009-2010 season.

Could have back to back state appearances in 2009 & 2010. Single A and then double AA.

1. Who were the ringleaders on the push to A? :-s

2. Plausible :-k ...the A is very possible for '09, the AA however I think is another story, even though the schedule is fairly AA come tourney time coming back from A could hurt them. For some reason...other than their mid-80's run...Bemidji seems to peak in the youth levels. ](*,)

Kids voted on it, coach & AD went along with them. Some people believe there are some parents and other adults behind it.

And Warroad, East Grand, Thief River and then Moorhead, Roseau amy also be a stumbling block....

Had some decent teams in the 90's also, but after that the teams that were good as bantams lost a lot of kids to juniors, depleting the varsity of the studs you need to beat Moorhead & Roseau.

I like elliott's picks. They will prove to be dead on.

I see Buffalo will be playing Roseau away and Moorhead at home this season. Buffalo's schedule looks fairly rugged with Cloquet, Edina, Wayzata, Roseau, Moorhead, Armstrong, Minnetonka, Rogers etc...not to mention early season Wayzata Tournament and the Rochester Tourney over Christmas...Bison's record may not warrant 3 seed but they may be able to surprise come section time...I know they will be looking to the Moorhead game wth a great amount of determination after what happened last season...
