There's a real "traditional" game.

HM - STA

Actually it is a game with a great tradition. They met for the first time in Hill's first year of hockey in 1960. They have played each other approx. 90 times in the 47 years since then. HM has played STA in hockey more times, by far, than any other school. There were a number of years in the SP City Conference when they scheduled to play 3 times each year. The series was interrupted when they played in different conferences during the late 80s & 90s. It started again in 2001 when the Classic Suburban was formed. The last 2 years they are 2-2 & have battled for the CSC title. They were co-champs this past year & will continue to battle for the title for years to come.

Apologies, I didn't realize the history between the two.

HM - STA

I did some research & I have to admit that it's not a great historical rivalry but is a long one. 90 games is inaccurate - it's 68 games over 48 years. Hill-Murray leads the all time series with STA 55-13. It was pretty lopsided from 1970 through 2005 at 41-4. They didn't play at all for 12 years from 1990 through 2001. It was 8-0 in the 4 years from 2002 through 2005 and has been 2-2 the last 2 yrs. Nevertheless they are the school HM has played more than any other topping the 63 times they have played WBL (including 4-0 vs. Mariner). BTW that series is now 40-20-3 in favor of HM.
