I've spent considerable time breaking down film of these team's past few games and I've noticed something. Neither team has been assembled yet.

Well the Pioneers are returning a significant chunk of the team which includes all of the scoring threats from last year (minus Larson) and an experienced goaltender in Phillippi. Wayzata lost their top player in Howe so it looks as though it may be an average team.

Final Score:

Pioneers 6, Trojans 1

In that case, I will bring cake to celebrate the pioneers early season victory. Do you guys like chocolate?

Don't buy, so easily, into the Howe myth. =; The boy was not single-handedly keeping them in games, the last two seasons. There's plenty of supporting talent there, and a decent backup between the pipes. All is not lost with the exit of Howe. In fact, Wayzata may be more of a "team" with the loss of the alleged "superstar." \:D/
