Two comments on Refs:

-I can't stand it when a ref has to make sure everyone knows they're in charge - even when the game doesn't require it. An example is one of the main Dist5 guys (you know who he is) - he hates teams from the cities too!

-Last year before a game I was coaching I asked a more "senior" ref how he liked the new rules & he told me it was the best thing for the game. He also said it was a pain in the a$$ until everyone got used to the calls and that they have to be as consistent as possible. When I asked him why he got into reffing in the first place he told me he led the Iron Range in elbows in the late 70s and wanted to give something back to the game. This guy was a GOOD ref - I hope he's still involved...

4 teeth knocked out, 16 stitches on the lip and ten on the side of my face. 10 seconds left, 7-1, got two handed/cross checked in the face...........nothing no call or justice
