5. Clear boards

4. Lets play hockey expo

3. Channel 4 televised all the games. By far they did the best job over any one else. They used to bring in celebrities to watch the tourney.

2. Jefferson vs #1 Minnetonka (84/85?) It was the Thursday 7pm game. The game took so long. They had to play it the next morning. Friday morning they allowed everyone out of school at Jefferson. Everyone drove down the civic center. Jefferson scored about 45 seconds into the game. (it seemed) and the Jaguars moved on to play Burnsville that night. (lost)
Minnetonka was heavily favored in this game. They outshot Jefferson about 4 to 1. Jeffersons goalie was standing on his head making save after save.
Jefferson went on to have a few more tourney appearances.

1. Jefferson fight song. Like my buddies would tell everyone after the first Jefferson goal of the game. "Get used to this fight song. You're going to hear it ALOT"!
Life's simple, but some insist on making it hard

5. The smell as you enter the Xcel

4. The countless miles walked in the skywalk between the Xcel and the hotel

3. The sellouts and incredible atmosphere

2. Lets Play Hockey Expo

1. 2004-The silver bullet (Greg Stutz) not allowing a single goal in the state tournament. Single greatest goalie clinic I have ever attended.

Brad Stepan from Hastings had a full beard in 1985 as a sophmore. That man scared me. He use to hit like a train.

Are you from Roseau then. because there were some fans in section 206 at the AA championship game that were so damn annoying. (but it was really funny watching all the rapids fans get pissed off)

To make it through all of the games and eat nowhere but at the X this would be about right... The sad part about that is if you go to a decent burger joint around there you spend half that amount and you can get a nice beverage to go with it... Just a thought.

5. DE & AV
4. Eastview's first ever appearance (and only one so far)
3. Lets Play Hockey Expo
2. Pretending to be a GR student so we could get tix for round 2 last year.
1. Watching Pat White put on his own clinic vs Roseau in first round

#1 has to be the best game I have ever watched in person. Not only did the pace keep up the entire game but it went from end to end with physical play and some great scoring opportunities for both teams...

All very good top 5 contenders. I wouldnt put this as one of the most memorable things by any means, but last year the 206 and 216 connection was sweet. If only the security guards had let us join forces

But I would add davani's personal pizza's to my top 5.

2. Lou Nanne and Wally Shaver
3. The old Civic Center
4. St Paul (everything from the giant neon 1st sign to Cossettas)
5. Buying tickets from scalpers for a high school event
