Great early season matchup here! Who is it going to be? Who are the players to watch?

Centennial should win this...let's say 5-3. Tyler Pitlick from Centennial is a player to watch. Had 5 points (2G, 3A) vs Roseville. I believe he is the nephew of Lance Pitlick.

I think Centennial will prevail.
Up and coming Hughes will be fun to watch over the next few years from Centennial. He played his first high school game last week and scored his first goal.
For Blaine- Johnson and Hansen are fun to watch. Should be an interesting year for Blaine after losing so many top players.

Blaine is way down this year. Centennial has it in the bag.

And yes, Tyler is the nephew of Lance Pitlick.

I don't see anyone giving Centennial a run during sections & this game will prove my point. Centennial will be strong all year & return to St. Paul proudly with their home grown talent. It's in the bag!

I played for Blaine two years ago, and I know the players from Centenial and Blaine very well along with the coaches. I think the game will be within one or two goals for sure, and I'm leaning a little more towards Centenial, because Blaine has a lot of young defenseman and the goalie is a little overrated. You never know though there's a great chance Blaine wins 4-1, because they didn't lose as many players as people may think. GOOD GAME!!

I also think that Blaine's senior forwards Johson, Hanson, and Shaber are all better than Pitnick at least this year. Centenial just has a strong team overall...

Decent Game here! Score doesn’t tell the whole story here. Centennial’s junior goalie Strand made a couple amazing glove saves. Blaine starting things off in the first period with a goal from Johnson hitting the puck out of mid air with 6:41 left in the first. After a sluggish start centennial came out flying in the second dominating play similar to how Blaine did in first after a spark from Centennials first goal came from Pitlick with a hard drive to the net late in the first 15:46 in. The cougars took the lead early in the second with a one timer from the slot from Pitlick his second. Blaine had a couple power play opportunities late in the 3rd to tie things up. Pitlick sealed the deal when he completed his hat trick with another shot from the slot with 5:29 left in the third. Cougars captain Larsen added the Bengal’s demise with a wrap around goal late in the third with 1:56 left.

* I wasn’t able to hear the assist credits for any of the goals. Time for Fogerty arena to upgrade the MC system. If anyone has these please post!

Goals and assists are listed in the "scores" thread at the top.

I found it interesting that Centennial had ZERO power play opportunities.

It was a good game though.

What was the crowd like for the game? I should have been pretty big.

Centennial looked deep! Blaine had a 5-3 and 3 or 4 other power plays. The Cougars didn't have a single power play. Shots on goal were pretty misleading. The Cougars controlled most of this game.

Pitlick was far and away the best player on the ice!

Has been the case since squirts. Hes an all around good player, and in the past couple years when he started to get some size, he only improved.

Do you feel he is in the same Leauge as R.J. Anderson? I completly agree that Pitlick was far and away the best player on the ice. Do we have another Gopher in the midst?

We could but R J Anderson is by far and away the most overrated gopher recruit..so lets hope that doesn't happen again

I agree, I dont know what happened to him, he was unreal in youth and in high school but when he got to the U he just has never developed. I think he could have used some time in the USHL.

Pitlick is unreal.

The Cougars are looking pretty deep this year. They should be a tough team through out the season.
