Benilde is VERY good, they look like a top 5 or 6 team in the state.

If Benilde is going to State, it had better be this year. They cupboard is going to be bare after this group of seniors leave.

Is this team more than one line deep? I heard Zierke is playing very well.

I have been told they only play three D and have an unsettled goalie situation. Doesn't seem to the the makins for a state championship run.

I dont get how there goalie situation isn't settled yet, the freshman from last year mike Shibrowski played 23 games on a very good BSM team and had a save percentage over .900 and this year he has two wins over CDH and Stillwater.

I watched most of the game. It looked like TG's skates were mired in muck. Even at even strength, I thought BSM had a 1 or 2 skater advantage. Either BSM is very good, or TG isn't that good.

Whoever said Nick Nagel from TG could be a possibility for Mr. Hockey was seriously mistaken. He is alright but didnt impress me last night. The only TG player that impressed me was Schlagel, and even he is not Mr. Hockey caliber. BSM- all around good team

I thought Nick played a pretty good game. He is definitely one of their better players.

Nagel is a classic example of a "big" kid that people see has upside. He doesn't see the ice very well and refuses to pass. I think it will be a long year for him. Nice kid, "good" player, but not a great player. He will get some opportunity because of his size.

Both Nagel and Delisle should be the typical "big" guys you speak of that have the capability of being big valuable to their teams. Individually, skilled players with a lot of upside, but this season especially they need to be fed off of the guys around them. TG always starts slow, everyone knows that, but then again it still doesn't entirely excuse an 8-3 loss to a conference rival and contender.

nagel

If nagel is so bad why is Notre Dame, Quinnipiac, Ohio State, and St Cloud talking to him along with agents and pro scouts? Just cause he's a "big" kid?

You claim to say that he refuses to pass, but who to pass to with a team that cant handle the puck. I dont mean to rip on Totino but there not that strong. A big kid with wheels and the shot, Delisle also the same, both have amazing potential. I've also heard that Mr. Nagel has been talking to some schools? Is this true? Over time we will see if Totino can rack up the points with their players.... but i doubt it. ha.

What do you think is a reason why a team would "always start slow", if that really is the case. If it is a pattern that can be identified, why couldn't it be corrected?

#crunch was correct, i was very clear that Nagel is not a "bad" player, in fact i said he was a "good" player. It doesn't surprise me that some schools are talking to him, but to answer your question i do think the main reason is because he is "big". Happens all the time, big kids that can skate are not that common.

I've seen both of these teams play quite a bit in the last few years.....A little surprised with how much offense Benilde had even with the loss of a few big scorers. Wasn't real surprised with Totino, seems like they're always sluggish out of the gate, but begin to take form after Christmas. Regarding Nagel, he definitely has the tools to excel at the high school level, but just because he is big and can move doesn't means he will find success. Physically he is one of the best in the state, but the mental part of the game is where I feel he struggles.
