I have gone to few of the better Bantam A games. I play JV but could have played bantams. It seriously seemed really slow to me and the others i was with felt the same.

Bantam A is better. All the time some of the previous year Bantam A players make varsity and all the Bantam B players make JV along with some of the weaker Bantam A's fromt he previous year. So i think that Bantam A is better, and if they played Bantam A would win.

Alright i played Bantam A to start the season. To realize this you would have to play bantam A and jv in the same season. That is just this year. If we were talking about last year bantams would definatly be the way to go. There was a big drop in talent at the Bantam A level from last year.

Bantam A is better than some JV conferences but not the lake conference or some other conferences

Definetely Bantams JV plays a max of 25 games and not all are against top teams Bantams play 50 to 70 with a majority of them against other high caliber teams

Grand Rapids use to have a JV vs Bantam A game around Christmas every year and the JV won all the time.

From what I have seen, the best JV teams would easily beat most Bantam A teams, hands down. But it is all dependent on your area, and how much depth your varsity team has.

Very much of a players desicien to play Bantam A(or B)/ JV for their local school comes from the coach. If your Bantam team is garbage the coach will be interested in having you play JV to get a feel for the high school game, as oppose to getting killed in bantams and not having a great record. On the other hand if you Bantam team is very strong the coach will most likely have you play with them so you can get good winning expierience and exposure.

i played jv instead of bantams as a freshman, id recomend bantams, even if its B1's you get more games, plus youl get more playing time because you wont be competing with spohs and juniors for ice time. i think playing bantams as a freshman gives you the best shot of making the varsity as a sophmore, but thats just me
enjoy this post while it lasts....

Bantams better than JV?
maybe at the small schools, but the very top top Bantam A teams would get smoked by any of the JV teams from the large programs. Not even close.

JV will get you more accustomed to High-school. Hitting is alot bigger in JV than Bantams. Plus, alot of teams play Varsity players for a Period of JV. Also playing JV gets you a better chance of playing Varisty next season. You get to really know what the Coach wants and expects of you. Not to mention you dont look so lost when the first day comes around,
