Minnesota in the NCAA tourney?
I say it would be pathetic if the NCAA places Minnesota in the NCAA tourney if they don't get first, second or third in the WCHA final 5. Keep in mind that the NCAA placed Wisconsin in last year for one reason and one reason only. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ The region was in Wisconsin. Minnesota State had a better overall record and head to head record against Wisconsin.
NCAA- Please do NOT do that for Minnesota. Let them earn the right to play in the NCAA tourney.
Will Minnesota make the NCAA tourney?

I agree. But it's much easier to sell tickets to Minnesota fans.grindiangrad-80 wrote:The Gophers will have to put on a good showing in the WCHA tournament to make the NCAA.
Last year they needed Wisconsin in there to sell tickets in Milwaukee.
The NCAA doesn't need the Gophs to sell out here.
The arena will be full no matter who is in.

And, just like last year, a more deserving team will miss the tourney. It's a shame. I'm obviously a Gopher fan, but if they don't have the resumé to make the big dance, don't put them in trying to make a few extra bucks.Blue&Gold wrote:Money will win out. Like it or not, if they are even close they'll be there.
