Hockey stick blade repair

Has anyone had any luck repairing a blade? IE-my kids $150 stick (4-5 months old) blade is chipped, fraying etc.... Any info/tips would be great please before I buy a new one.

I've useed these guys - obviously in Chaska but they have drop-offs at two other (sporting good store) locations. Shakopee & Bloomington.

You can either cut off the blade and use that end for the butt. Then put a replacement blade where the old butt end used to be (make sure to use some resin or hot glue). Another thing you can try is purchasing some fiberglass coating. It is generally used for coating longboards, but I play with a guy that coats his wooden sticks to keep them stronger and lasting longer.
