Eagan came out flying and controlled the first 5 min. Minnetonka was sloppy and looked tired. Eagan was trying to be very physical and ended up checking D man Prochno from behind which resulted in a 5 Min Major in the first period. Prochno didn't return. The shift before that D man Johnson went out with an injury. They were done to 4 D then with one of them playing in his first varsity game. Tonka looked bad the first 3.5 min of pp but ended up getting a goal out of their 4th line. Another PP goal about a minute later and tonka started to feel good about themselves. Another untimely penalty by Eagan before the major ended and tonka capitalized again to make it 3 to 0.
2nd period Eagan was on a mission and took control of the play and got back in the game with two goals.
Tonka held on with great goal tending (back up goalie) / good play by short bench of D men / and finding a way to win.
Eagan was the more explosive team but didn't get it done tonight. They need to stay out of the box. I would say they are top 5 team.

How can Bemidji be fortunate when they outshot the Tigers by at least 11 shots? It sounds as though the Tigers goalie stood on his head to keep them in the game.MrBoDangles wrote:SPUDHOCKEY wrote:Bemidji over St.Cloud Tech 3-2 in OT with 43 seconds left. Bemidji clearly the better teams with quality chances and more shots on goal.
They were fortunate to get the OT win at home.
