New Hockey website coming

Post by clutterbuck22 » Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:44 pm

Tomorrow I am going to work on a launching a new website for hockey. It will feature a blog, standings, rankings, recruits, highlights, and live scores for DIII hockey, DI hockey, junior college hockey, junior hockey, and high school hockey from the Cities and southern Minnnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. If you have any other ideas on how to make the website more unique or interesting, please let me know.

Photo albums are always great, and nearly every team has an parent who doubles as an amateur photographer. So encouraging people to send in photos from games would be nice.
Always celly hard.

Also looking for a cheap or free live scoring app for the website.

godaddy is a great host, very reliable and you can get great deals by simply just googling "godaddy promo codes" and pulling up a list. you can also install joomla (content management system) right through godaddy which is nice and easy. I'd say go with joomla if your making this complex of a site, they have a lot of extensions that can make your life a whole lot easier haha :)

I would suggest including all of Minnesota HS hockey. No need to limit it to just cities and south. It would be like having a NHL website without the Canadian teams. Just a biased opinion.

Trying to get Empire banned puck?

You know "the site that can't be named" isn't allowed here...

Of course I am not trying too.

Sorry, I just became aware of that.

Had no clue of the possible repercussions.

Carry on.. 8)

Back on topic so nobody gets banned...

I think a site dedicated to So. MN, Wisc, and Iowa would be useful giving exposure to those area's. Those horns are laughed at when tooted here...

If you're more interested in covering Iowa and Wisconsin than all of Minnesota hockey, then I'm not interested - won't bother to even look at it.
