They have made State 8 times in the past 15 years. Good but not dominating..

it sure does help, how did east do playing IN elk river last year, can you remember, they LOST. it would be a different outcome if east had to go to elk river to play sections every year, i'll guarantee you that. oh thats right east followers don't think that there is a home ice advantage.

11 in the last 17, actually. I don't know why they even bother to play the games.

What is the capacity of the Elk River Ice Arena, Hair Care and Tire Center? 100? Yeah, that would work.

Can we bring our refs this time?
What do they do with your arena down there in the summer? Turn it into a bar?

At least we wouldn't have to listen to "East should opt up!".

Here come the crybabies again. There was a thread a few months back stating how this would happen. Thanks for keeping the tradition going.
FYI amsoil is not easts home rink

I'd be enamored to hear where all the "haters" think they should hold the section finals instead. Rochester work better?

Why not...
Hoyt Lakes Arena!?
No conspiracy people, Duluth has the best facilities that hold the most people. High School hockey is popular in that region and many people come to see the sectional games. The DECC and Amsoil are the only facilities that can hold that many people (legally - not breaking any fire codes).

Hibbing Memorial Building
This is the only other logical choice. However, it still leaves 2000 people without a seat (capacity 3500 vs. 5500 - even more with Amsoil). I'm sure it still gets filled for the AA final - it used to when I was playing.
It's not even close to home ice as when the DECC was the only place East played. As far as I can tell they play their homes games at Heritage (aside from 1-2?).

I was there when east beat Hibbing in97. I don't recall us complaining about the location. Slayer is a whining troll. He needs to be ignored
