Admittedly, I don't know much about the Lourdes. Let's hear who you got and why.

If Lourdes gets a lead early, this one's over because of Heimer and the way Lourdes plays D. Hibbing needs to score first in this game.

My prediction

Hibbing 2
Lourdes 4

I like Hibbing to take this one. They have been really hot. They ended the regular season with a 2-2 tie vs Hermantown and then outscored their 3 playoff opponents 19-1 (including Duluth Central and Virginia). G Tromp has the best playoff save % in the state and all 3 lines have been contributing. Lourdes lost to Duluth Marshall 5-1 and Hibbing tied Marshall 3-3, for whatever that's worth. Lourdes took STA to the limit (5-6 OT loss), tied Totino, and beat Breck, so they are indeed tough. I think Hibbing's harder schedule (AA:GRapids twice, Minnetonka, Lakeville North, Cloquet, Roseau, A:Viriginia twice, Hermantown, Warroad, Marshall, Mahtomedi, Central),will pay off for them as they win the game 3-1.

I am loving this Hibbing hockey team right now. As stated previously, they have been playing their best hockey right now and have played some pretty tough teams throughout the season. An unseeded team to win it all would be a nice story. Especially being from the range, where the teams have not had much success in St. Paul lately. I know I will be pulling for them.

Prediction
Jackets - 4
Eagles - 2

This is the 3rd trip to the X in the last 3 years for the Eagles. They have the experience and game to be able to go a long ways. Lourdes has the defense to hold Hibbing down and have the offense to also get after their mistakes. Lourdes wins this game easily if they can get an early lead, there defense is just too strong and they have been converting on all their opportunities lately.

Eagles - 4
Hibbing - 1

Hibbing has a chance if they can get after Lourdes early but I don't see that happening based off how the Eagles have been playing lately.

This should be a really good one. Maybe the best quarterfinal game on wed. The comparison of games with DM is a moot point. Lourdes gave up 2 en goals in the last 1:30 so 5-1 looks worse.
Lourdes played an awful 1st period and only down 1-0. After that it was competitive. Watched Hibbing play in the Holiday Tourney in Rochester and Hibbing has a great 1st line with Adams and DeCenzo no doubt.
I like that we play at 1:00 and not 8:00 and have to sit around all day waiting to play. The Eagles are hungry to stay at the X this year. Either way it should be a fun game to watch. Best time of year isn't it!!!!

little North vs. South hockey going down it seems. Agree it'll be one of the best quarterfinal matches in Class A, Lourdes' defense will have to try and keep Hibbing's offense in check. Hibbing is definitely maybe one of the best unseeded teams in Class A and will come to try and upset Lourdes in this one. Hibbing's offense led by Johnson and DeCenzo vs. Lourdes' deep defensive core of Vesel, Slightam and Brandrup will be the headline for this one. Lourdes plays with the lead well as said before, but they will have to fight off one of the top scoring tandems in the state. Personally defense triumphs over offense, can't lose if they don't let the other team score and Lourdes will get their goals with their youngsters in Samuelson, Funk and Farrell.

Lourdes breaks the first round slump and advances, 3-2 OT

This is a toss-up. Hibbing is playing really well right now, I'm going with the hot hand. I think Lourdes is a tad overrated.

Hibbing is playing great right now and as previously stated, I believe lourdes is a little overrated. Should be a great game to watch.

Lourdes Defensemen are outstanding and their forwards extremely quick. However they do lack size up front. If Hibbing can play a physical hockey game they increase their chances. Although if Lourdes is on their A game they are a tough team to beat.

Lourdes- 4
Hibbing- 2

I gotta take my fellow Bluejackets in this game, the hard work all season has finally paid off and they will continue winning at the X.

Mr. plow, only in your dreams.

Describing Lourdes as not much of a threat is a little much. However, they seem to be a bit untested and unproven. Usually a good recipe for an upset scare.

This should be good game, if Hibbing plays the body against Lourdes top line
And does not take any penalties in the process they will win.

Hibbing 4-2
