Schwan's Holiday Tournament at Excel

Post by TylerDurden » Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:53 am

Any word on what teams are involved and/or what the schedule is for the Schwan's tournament this year? I tried to look it up on yahoo.com but didn't find any results.

wow roseville second? haha lets get real here, roseville is going to be worse then they were last year. Centennial also wont get last place either, last will either go to roseville or wayzata.
The curse lives on.....
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Roseville doesnt stand a chance at anything...8th place.

Bronze-eh, I'll pick CDH to win it.
Silver-I don't think Hill will have too much opposition based on the first three games.
Gold-I could see the Bears repeating this one.
---They play Wayzata first. Look for running time.
---Moorhead is down this year, but they will manhadle Roseville. If WB could beat them last year when they were at full steam, a rebuilding (kind of) team should be easy to slide by with a W.
---Championship will be between WB and AHA..Slight edge to AHA but I think WBL can pull it off.

Final Places for Silver (I'm listing this only this division in its entirety because Hill is in this one)
1. Hill-Murray
2. Elk River
3. Edina
4. Breck
5. Apple Valley
6. Benilde
7. Maple Grove
8. Brainerd

I have to pick AHA, they have not played yet but I know that Trebil will have the boys ready. I would love to have Centennial again. But to get another shot at WBL. Last year in the shootout they beat us and I think the match up will be good. Hill takes the silver and the Bronze ?
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

TylerDurden, no way STA finishes last theyre top 3, maybe 2 teams in class A. the only possible way they lose their first game is if its against cretin, and i still think theyd beat cretin. but if they did lose to them they would blow out the rest of the teams in the consolation bracket.

This is Roseville's tournament. I guess I didn't know they were THAT bad...why are they even playing for the gold then? Time will tell on this one. I stand by my predictions.

Roseville

This isn't Roseville's tournament by any means. They don't deserve to be there. The very fact that they are there is a disgrace to the teams that they will face, who want to play GOOD teams.

I stand by my prediction that Roseville doesn't stand a chance.

Rosevilles tournament? STA taking last in bronze? What is going on in your mind? Roseville might be on the upswing and getting confidence because they beat Blake but look at Blake this year. They obviously at this time are not the team many thought them to be, including myself. Roseville doesnt stand a chance of doing anything in this tourney. And as far as STA taking last...are u being serious? They play Orono first round, a team they smoked in a scrimmage this year. That game alone shouldnt be close which means that STA couldnt take last and even if they were to lose, how could they lose all the rest of their games...including Prior Lake.... ick picks

He does have a point. Roseville has played well this year, and they lost to Centennial in a close game by one goal. Since when is that disgraceful? If anyone is disgraceful it should be Wayzata losing 8-1 to Hill? Isn't that embarrassing? Not saying Hill isn't a dominating team, but that is a butt whooping.

How many of you think that the XCEL should only be used for the BIG SHOW! One that bring in 1,000,000's people over the tournament. One that is the largest attended High School tournament in the country! HIGH SCHOOL STATE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Some of these teams get a chance to shake off any nerves, acclimate themselve, probly even more advantages to mention? I think so.
Would it be better to host the finials at let's say Mariucci Arena. This is the location for the loser bracket for State. The coaches could be telling the kids: "Great you made it here for the Mid - Season gig, Can you imagine what it llike at the EXCEL?"
Make this a special place for those that deserve it at the end of the season?
Just a thought?
