Taylor Cammarata
This kid from Plymouth would have been fun to watch at Maple Grove HS. Eye-popping stats last year with Shattuck and already 10 points in 8 USHL games. It's too bad he didn't play any HS hockey. Hopefully the Gophers can land this prodigy. Any other players that are high school aged who've skipped HS altogether? Where would they have gone?

you could argue that Jordan Schroeder did (actually skipped bantams), he played in 8th & 9th grade only, I think Taylor would be a Junior this year so its a similar career path. Max Smith at eastview did this as well. Lets hope he's given the opportunity to develop at his own pace and not hurried to the next level. No question he has some of the best offensive talent to come out of Minnesota in awhile.

First of all I think Taylor is an unbelievable offensive talent. But I don't think there's a blueprint for a "quick route to the pro's" in today's NHL when you are Taylor's size. I wish him all of the best luck and would love to see him excel all the way to the highest level. But let's be honest, the NHL isn't exactly the most forward thinking organization in the world - for the most part 6'2" - 210 lbs. with some skill will win out over 5'10"- 180 lbs. with considerably more skill 9 times out of ten. I'm rooting for Taylor, though. Good luck, and sign with the gophs.pipes3030 wrote:With his skill one would think he would take the quick route to pros through major jrs. You never know though.
