12-1 SEC Action
Six SEC teams in action tonight including the conference opener.
Hastings (0-1-1) at Eagan (0-0-0 ) 7:15 PM
Hastings opened with a loss to Eastview, task is even tougher tonight!
Apple Valley (0-1-0) at East Ridge (2-0-0) 7:30 PM
Should be a good game to gauge to see if the Raptors have improved from last season.
Prior Lake (0-0-0) at Woodbury (2-0-0) 7:30 PM
Woodbury looks to stay undefeated and keep their early season momentum going.
Tartan (0-1-0) at Mounds View (0-0-0) 7:30 PM
Lots of buzz about the Mustangs, should get their coach his 1st varsity win.
Roseville (2-0-0) at Forest Lake (0-0-0) 7:30 PM
SEC conference opener, Roseville comes in with two games played while this will be Forest Lake’s season debut. The Rangers top line will test Roseville’s inexperienced net minders; the Raiders however have a lot of experience back, especially on the blue line. Both teams are looking to compete for the SEC Title with Forest Lake being one of the favorites.

The Mounds View loss to Tartan puzzles me, Park-Cottage Grove handled Tartan easily last week. Could be the young Mustangs just need more game experience. Lots of hype about last years bantams but the jump to varsity isn't an easy one.

Disappointing is a good adverb to describe MV's loss to Tartan. They started fast with a great first period, 14 shots on goal and 1 very pretty goal, After clearly showing that they had more speed than Tartan, MV then played a conservative Jacque Lamiere-like neutral trap. They need more experience to figure out what kind of team they are . .and it's not a team that is going to win games 1-0.
