Roseau was down 3-0 at one point in the game, Roseau fought back with a goal in the 2nd to make it 3-1. Rams come out flying in the 3rd absolutely all over the undefeated Bluejackets and get one early in the period from little Benny Nelson to make it 3-2. Rams take a timeout with about 3 minutes left in the game. Corey Erickson scores next shift to tie the game. Memorial Arena erupted as Nelson gets one in overtime for the Rams to complete the win for the Rams.

Roseau 4

Hibbing 3 F/OT

Tired?
Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't Roseau be tired from last night too, or is it that you are trying to justify Hibbing losing?

FSN made the biggest mistake of the winter season by missing this unbelievable game today at Memorial Arena in Roseau. Undefeated Hibbing vs. the Hard working but young Ram squad. Hibbing jumped out early but with the place packed; there is no way you can go up by too much to the Rams. Three things stood out in today's game that show that the Rams may be playing in March. 1.The leadership of the first line with Brian McMillin, Corey Erickson, and in the shadows, but vital to the line, Kurt Weston, definitely know how to steer this young squad to a "W." 2.The young gun line of Ben Nelson, Tyler Landman, and Dusty Moser have proven to every opponent that age does not matter. Ben Nelson (soph) had two goals, Moser (soph) had two assists, and the freshmen, Landman with one assist. This line was buzzing tonight and not even Hibbing's first line could do anything. 3.Tough defense was a key today with a tough Hibbing squad, led by freshman Aaron Ness, who is unbelievable already in Varsity play and turning heads in the college level, with partner Derek Biermaier, that is always good for a tough shot and an even tougher hit. Altogether the Rams played tough in the third and even tougher in the fourth. They are coming together and it is exciting to watch these kids play.
"Your only as good as your next save!"

This game was nuts especially with a Roseau goal at the buzzer that was called a goal but then went to the goal judge who said no. It was a very intertaining game.

Why is hibbing so good this year ????? thats a silly question, programs have their highs and lows all the time, the past couple years for sure hibbing has had young teams at the state tourny and done quite well, this year they are especially good. Im personally happy to see them doing well, especially since their schedule isnt super weak like some teams that are undefeated...
*WILD HOCKEY FAN FOREVER*

Give me a break 11 - 0 over Greenway and they should be tired, shame on you for that. I watched the Warroad - Hibbing game I know Hibbing took a sh!t pounding on Friday night. Listened to the Roseau - Hibbing game only 8 minors the whole game for both teams. So yes, I believe Hibbing could have been way more tired than the Rams by the third period. No excuse but Hibbing had the tougher road through the northwest this weekend. And Coleraine looked like a bad JV team, my how the mighty have fallen, they chose a great time to move back where they belong.

We are obviously talking about this year SB24. If you are gonna bring up scores from the past we could just as well bring up the score from way back in 1978 when the Rams beat Warroad 16-0 in the Old Gardens. Some people need to forget about the past. THIS YEARS Rams team is for real! The way they played against Hibbing (#1 in A) shows that they will be exciting to watch in March!! MARK MY WORDS!

Playing the wrong card there sonny....

Post by Renegade Ram » Sun Dec 18, 2005 5:25 pm

I'm surprised some cidiot hasn't jumped all over you for saying the Rams are for real for beating a single A school. Where's Rustyblades or G & W when you need them. They'd give you a good session behind the woodshed for suggesting the Rams are for real with a single win over a Class A school. Haven't they already lost to two Class A schools. Roseau's Class AA to prove they are for real in that class they have to win those games didn't the just lose their first big AA game with Moorhead albeit in OT, remember if it's 1 - 0 or 10 - 9 it's still a loss not a win; right?

well im not making excuses for hibbing so dont start to jump all over this but yes i agree with whoever said this, hibbing did get absolutely pounded on in thier game against warroad so it would be legit to say that hibbing would have been alot more worn down than roseau would have been from playing greenway. but i still gotta applaud the rams, they played hard

Same said about Warroad

Post by Renegade Ram » Mon Dec 19, 2005 8:25 am

Talked with Hibbing parents after the Friday night game over frosty's they felt the same way; Warroad was the better team and this wouldn't have even been close with Harren on the ice. It is funny that Ram fans are trying to justify their for real with a Single A win though...BuNT cakeLover; remember your playing 8AA.

Renegade Ram...i would like to know the names of the hibbing parents that told you that after the game...i find it hard to believe that any parent from hibbing would say that, especially after a big win like that...i agree that harren would have probably made a little difference but im pretty sure that if they had them in that game that hibbing would have still came out on top....another thing, i see that warroad beat coleraine the next day 8-1...i would like to see how many goals harren contributed in that game, and if harren was is such an impact on that team, why didnt they beat them by more or let greenway score on them? they must have been tired from the beating the night before, maybe thats just me....

The gents I was drinking beer with at Main Street after the game, I wasn't real concerned with names. It was an interesting conversation, you should have been there. Funny, I kept seeing Hibbing's numbers 7, 12 and 16 laying flat on their backs on more than one occasion after trying to initiate the contact. Hibbing took a pounding and without those 2 very bad goals to start the game and a couple of Warroad players absolute stupidity throughout the game this isn't a game. 5 on 5 without Harren...Warroad was still the better team. Coleraine game total shots were 40 - 6 with 7 pipes in the first two periods alone which don't count as shots on goal. If all of Warroad's line could have converted on their chances this was easily double digits. The goal that Coleraine got was a dump in off the end boards misplayed by a goalie dicking around. Must be tough talking about a game you didn't see OR listen to and I saw or listened to all four...did you? statehockey22 stuff that in your glass pipe and smoke it.

first off...im sure the legs were a little rusty after a long 4 hour for the bluejackets. im sure it was nice for the warriors to be at home getting properly ready for a big game. Still, the bluejackets, with their rusty ole' legs still pulled it off....as you see, 7, 12, and 16 are all little guys on the team. i did, however see 12 get payback on marvin, who got absolutely crushed at the blueline not to mention a couple other players dishin out some big hits against the warriors(37, 17, 3, and 22) ...anyways, second...you still havent answered my question Mr. Ram, how much of a difference did Harren make in the Coleraine game?

p.s.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey22 at: 12/20/05 10:41 pm

As absolutely crappy as Coleraine is who really cares. They are in the RLF, Bagley catagory this season Does that answer your question? Long bus ride nice EXCUSE. I find it funny how you Hibbing folks think you really accomplished something winning a non-conference game. Try acting like you guys have actually won something of importance lately, oops that's right you haven't.

wow mr renagade up there seems to have had his buttons pushed a little when hibbing beat warroad. they got beat... face it... hibbing has something this year.. face it... hibbing snapped warroads 24 or 32 (who cares, even though it is impressive) winning streak... deal with it.... i am also pretty sure that warroad was not the only team laying kids outs, im sure if i went down warroads roster i could find some small kids that were constantly on there backs with thier thumbs in thier mouths

WOW

I think renegade 1981 is getting a little mussed up over the mighty Warriors having a bad weekend. Add Tuesdays loss he should be about ready to smoke his own little glass pipe. Face it the Warrior coaching staff has a tough road to hoe how many players on the current varsity roster had much varsity experience last year??? Al and Denny had a pat team last year it will be interesting to see how well they can take a young squad and get them to varsity level by February.
