If this turns into another public vs private pissfest, it's going away. Quickly. So knock the crap off...

You never hear posts on running private coaches out of town. Mainly because there is no town or youth association. This year people went after Giles for cutting seniors, does BSM,HM and STA cut seniors? Probably but you never hear an uproar. A community expects their coach to be invoved in the association, a private school coach doesn't have that commintment or expections.
Really? you don't have any idea what a private school coach is doing So just keep your mouth shut about anything having to do with private schools. You don't know anything about them. Flat out...
I know Pauly is a huge advocate of keeping seniors so don't talk as if you know what Pauly is thinking. Be quiet, because you don't know squat!
Please give me some insight on what a private school coach really does? Why did Pauly run from the challenge of running a public program at one of the best programs in the state? Not a lot of tears shed at Tonka when he quit.

After playing his teams in high school, watching him at work molding the talent (regardless of how it comes through the door), and have them peaking at the best time EVERY year, he and his staff deserve an awful lot of credit.

The top five coaches in Minnesota right now are Lechner, Plante, Brodt (girls), Kivihalme, and Randolph (regardless of how handles himself off the ice). Honorable mention to Urick and Johnson at Tonka, Giles and Slominski at Edina and Morinville.

When talking about coaches, a lot of it comes down to how good the staff is in general. From personal experience, these ladies and gentleman are the best at what they do, have success and know how to motivate their players while having high expectations every season.
Palmquist (girls) for upper tier.

Mulefarm,

Could it possibly be that Pauly left Tonka and returned to Benilde for a better teaching position? Didn't he take Tonka to state while there? Seems to me that he's done a pretty good job at both places.

hmmmmm let's think about this... Pauly was BSM's coach back in the late 80s/early 90s. He left BSM shortly after being informed that they wouldn't move up to AA. A few years later, once BSM did announced they were moving to AA he went BACK to BSM. Next year he's moving the team out of their conf. and is going to be like DE (independent.)

but yeah, he ran from the "challenge" at 'Tonka after he turned that program around.

like it or not people, but Pauly has proven to be a "top" coach in the state. He's pushed his team/school to play more challenging games/teams and be successful. He could have just sat in class A with BSM and dominated even MORE than STA has. He was even the guy who coined the phrase "trophy chasers" when talking about STA.

Thank You! He turned that crap tonka program around. But he isn't that good...
Don't hate STA. I wouldn't want to lose either.
