Top Metro Bantam A /AA Teams

Post by buttend » Fri Oct 05, 2012 11:09 pm

With tryouts at full speed for most Associations. Its time to preseason rank your top teams

My top 5 Metro Bantam A/AA

1. Edina ( Bellows returns, if he plays Bantams, State Champ repeat)
2. Wayzata ( Loses MZ but Trojans are deep)
3 Burnsville ( 6 returners + returning goalie + Rosemount move in)
4. Prior Lake ( 5 returners + goalie + 6-7 PW's from 2012 State Champ Team)
5. Elk River ( BJ loss will hurt but the Elks are still a good team)

others
Maple Grove ( nice group of first years coming in)
Rosemount ( Lost 2-3 players, small quick team)
Centennial ( 3-4 Nice 2nd year players will compete every night)
Farmington ( if they lose 3 kids to HS they are lower then this, if those 3 stay , top 3!)

So is Bellows back? ZR not a big lose and Rosemount transfer COULD make varsity

Huh. Bellows was at the Edina tryouts last Sunday, but watching his buds scrimmage. Maybe I should stop by the rink and see if he's there today. He'd be on the ice right now, if he's there.

Wonder if it had anything to do with Hurley leaving to US 18.... Maybe spot open for an 8th grader at the show...

That's what I heard. And Kiefer is an 8th grader.

Hurley is playing with the US 18s for Oct - will be back in time for HS season. Bellows is not needed on Varsity.

He is. We ran into the whole family at the movies one night and Kiefer shook my 9th grader's hand. My son's hand just vanished inside Kiefer's. He's not super tall, but very thick, just like Brian.

what about Eden Prairie? they always seem to be good. Good coaching staff.

They lost there best player MG, and best goalie. Gives us Bville better chance in D6.

1. Edina.
2. Wayzata
3. Prior Lake
4. Burnsville
5. OMG
6. Elk River
7. Stillwater
8. E.P.
Hornets & Trojans are the class of AA Metro hockey. Give PL nod over Burnsville. OMG will surprise, based on what I saw tryout. Elk River can go up or down, but should be there in the end. EP lost best player & goalie-not a good combo to lose w/o depth.

Looking across the Metro, D6 just has a lot of depth in the 97-99 birth years. Quite a bit different than up in District 3, or anywhere else for that matter.

Several reports from kids - KB has skipped 8th grade and is now miraculously a ninth grader. It's the end of the world as we know it.

The way Edina got handled by Wayzata in tryouts...heard it was like 8-9 rip not even KB will be able to help that situation out.

Teams that are going to make some noise in D6 will be Prior Lake and Burnsville.
Did somebody say they needed a Towel ??

I guess SSM is so good that a few weeks there is equal to a whole 8th grade at Edina. Also had it confirmed he is a 9th grader now.

Yep, I'm sure Edina will have no chance against Wayzata this year. Should be a Trojan cakewalk to the AA title.

Where's Waldo, I mean KB

Funny. No drama I'm sure. As they say, you just can't make this stuff up.

Shattuck?

Edina?

Benilde?

I didn't know you can just pick what grade you're in.
