After 2:
Duluth East 3
Edina 1
Edina gets one with 15 seconds to go in the 2nd to break up a long afternoon of power play futility. They had nothing resembling a quality chance during a five minute major, and maybe 1 shot. It's been a defensive clinic for East through 2 (shorthanded goal included), but they'll have to keep it up for another period. Shots are relatively close, though I'm guessing Edina pulled ahead toward the end of the 2nd.

Duluth East 4
Edina 1
Final
East gets a goal 1:25 into the third and then puts it in cruise control. Where on earth was this team yesterday? They did an exceptional job of shutting down passing lanes and harassing Edina puck-carriers all night long. Edina had very, very few quality chances. In a way, Edina looked like East yesterday; plenty of puck movement, but nothing was clicking in close. East played an aggressive, physical game, with Kerr roughing up Hurley all afternoon, and their PK was about as good as it gets--and they needed it to be.
My inner Hounds fan is thrilled, though the part of my brain that does the rankings is cowering in terror.
