There might be some truth to that. wild77 said that CEC's radio announcers were saying that clohkay's D had a lot of trouble with Rapid's first line. I guess Rapids has always had more size through the ranks with these two particular groups of kids.

However, CEC absolutely shut down Duluth East. Cloquet at one point was outshooting East 15-0 in the first. Also, Ellingson has the #2 save percentage behind GR's Jensen.

I'm going to change my prediction and say Brainerd wins this one 3-2 in OT. If the Warriors can take 3 of 4 points in their two meetings with CEC and beat the Hounds, they deserve the #2 seed in my opinion.

Yeah, Brainerd is certainly right now #6. But the way they've played lately has to give them the confidence they need to win vs. CEC and East. Brainerd can go 3-0 in the 2 games vs. CEC and vs. East, likely, no, possible, yes. It will require every line on Brainerd playing as hard as they can every shift the entire game. One line lets up a little bit and winning all 3 will be too tough.

Speaking of Forest Lake, they are still a wild card in this thing. They are sitting at the #5 spot, but they play CEC and East yet. I don't think they play Elk River. Their record isn't pretty, but they've been in every game. Speaking of round one, I think a team would rather play FL than Brainerd. I know I would. FL is a little bit more shaky in net, but a very scary opponent in a single elimination playoff.

I like Hibbing, but too many bad memories. I've watched Rapids in like 10 playoff games (dating back to '93) there and they've lost 8. The DECC is a nice venue, and really, East has won most of the time because they were good.

not quite the DECC but the rink is the right size.....

Post by BELOW 0 ZERO » Sun Jan 01, 2006 2:07 am

The game is in Brainerd this time, guys. More importantly the warheads visit cloquetish second from last game which will have more of an impact in who bowls first. I still see a wrench in the seedings thrown and a rusty lumberhack team lay a big fat egg right there, at center ice. Since Beachballs will be checked at the door, Barnherd wins 3 - 0.

Anybody know if this game has an internet feed? Great game for seeds, 1-6 are going to be a toss-up by the end of the year. Really would be critical to get that 1 or 2 seed to avoid a very tough quarterfinal game...but, the winner of this section is going to be primed and ready for a good run at State, I am willing to bet.

Majin

I think there is no definite lock for a certain seed, however, Grand Rapids is a 1, 2, or 3. Depends on how they do vs. CEC and East. If CEC beats Rapids, that doesn't mean CEC gets a higher seed for sure, cause it would be a split. Then things will weigh on their section records. As PuckRanger stated, Rapids has the upper hand on the #1 spot currently. And any team that goes undefeated in 7AA will be #1.

I have to agree with majin on this one. The 1-6 seeds are anybodys right now, thats for sure. There is going to be 2 controversial quaterfinal games. The 3-6 game and the 4-5 game because right now, GR, EAST, CEC, BRD, ER, and FL and basically a toss-up i dont think anybody is locked in any spot. This will be a very exciting feburary. Oh, and as for mondays game at the Teepee in Brainerd.

Warriors 3
Lumberjacks 2

hockeyislife19, 1-6 are a toss up, but within that, GR is 1-3, anything else would be extremely unjust after their 4-0 section start. The most difficult team to place perhaps is Elk River becuase they only play 3 meaningful 7AA games.

KLIZ 1380 for Brainerd. I don't think either side has an internet feed.

Not sure about this web radio, they should be switching to Brainerd soon, unless it's just the twin cities mother ship on the internet feed and not the Brainerd affiliate.
