Nothing against Teemu but I'd take his teammate Sheehy over him. That kid I think is a terrific talent..

Why does Canada put out so many more goalies. I know someone will say the # of games. But even kids that play for the Tier 1 AAA teams in the U.S. don't seem to be as good of goalies. When was the last time a goalie from M.N. went in the first 3 rds ???

Better competition day in and day out. Look how many candadians are listed on this list. That's who the goalies are playing against every game.

Maybe Adam Hauser in 1999 - selected 81st overall by Edmonton. (does 81st count in the TOP 3 rounds?)

Next Would be Alex Stalock - SSP - Selected 112th overall - 2005, San Jose

My take would be tradition. Goalies are heros becuase of the deep knowledge and understanding of the game in Canada. More kids want to be goalie. It takes a great athelte to be a great goalie, and if our great athletes were encouraged rather than discouraged to be goalies we would have more. Its a culture thing IMO.

Mike Lee - 2009 - 91st overall

FYI, Stalock went in the 4th round.

I'm not trying to sound sarcastic or mean at all here, but why aren't Ben Walker and Cody Corbett on this list? Both left to WHL in lieu of high school.

Here's an interesting article from a year ago about their departure. It sights the opportunity to play against better talent and elevating their draft resume. They didn't get drafted in 2012 and they aren't on the scouting list for '13. Plenty of MN HS players on the list though.

I noticed the same thing. Both are having very good seasons in the WHL. Might this list only include first time eligible players? I'm thinking there are some other missing players too. Kloos?

I did learn something by reading this article though that I thought was cool and mitigated the risk of forfeiting their NCAA eligibility - for every year of WHL service you get a full year tuition to school of your choice (as long as you don't sign a pro contract). That's not a bad deal for a guy who plays in the league for 3+ years.

Can you think of anyone from the STA team that is worthy of making this list?

STA is made of a deep pool of good talent, not a few top line stand outs. I could see Tommy Novak making this list in 2 years.

Snap, that's awfully misleading. It isn't quite that clean and much of the potential tuition money goes unclaimed.
Be kind. Rewind.

Besse is 2nd time eligible and is listed so that has nothing to do with it.

Sheehy's draft year is 2014.

Corbett and Walker were both 2012 prospects. They can still be drafted, but every team passed on them last year so I'm not sure central scouting pays much attention to them.

Don't know whether he was off his game or not Thurs. night against Rapids, but didn't even notice him on the ice. Might have been better off playing juniors this season where he would have been challenged more.

Heard he was coming off illness that had kept him out for a bit. From what I've seen of him, when he wants to play he can be very very good, but those spurts seem few & far between lately.
