And now you could call it even; Dingmann stonewalls a breakaway.

Then Wayzata comes right back with a ringer off the post.

Chances galore

Lovick's hit on Dingman

Post by Tornadoes 2003StateChamps » Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:56 pm

Centennial is known for crashing the net and trying to hurt the goalie. They did it all season long. Wayzata needs to protect Dingman or return the favor to Munson.

And right on cue Centennial proves your point by making another run on the goalie and lowering a shoulder into Dingmann. Real classy.

Another hit on Dingman

Post by Tornadoes 2003StateChamps » Thu Mar 07, 2013 10:09 pm

Are you kidding me? Another intentional hit on Dingman - good to see the refs are calling that. Clearly something that is coached.

Good sell on that last penalty by Dingmann. Wayzata's immaturity is going to cost them the game. Centennial plays a chippy and hard nosed style and Wayzata is letting their tempers get the best of them, they need to be smart the rest of the way.

And the chippiness costs them again as Freytag rams Bertrand after he came in close to Dingmann, but made no contact. Though I do think Bertrand went down awfully easily there.

Wow I would not want to make this call if I was the ref.

That is a tougher call to make, if Freytag is going to do something he can't blatantly blast him into the net. I thought that it looked worse than it was, but at the same time, when it looks like that it's most likely going to get called.

And no goal, I didn't see it pass the line all the way.

The view from straight up was blocked by Dingman's glove, the view from the side was at an angle. Something we get harped on in football officiating is angles are deceiving and in this case with the puck wobbling and no straight on view it had to be ruled no goal.

I can see how that could be the case, especially since the original call was no goal, and they'd need something conclusive to overturn it. You could definitely see daylight between the puck and the line in a few of those shots, but it may just have been the wobble.

I think you're right, had they called it a goal I think the call would have to stand.

Should be a great third period. Hoping to see Freytag and the Trojan offense pick it up, but Munson will be tough to beat.

A side note, Aaron Hicks last 10 at bats: 7 hits, 5 home runs, and 12 RBI,

I'll be in Ft Myers next week. :D

Munson will give up a juicy rebound which is how Wayzata will score. Why does he catch the puck and throw it on the ice after each save? Pretty disrespectful towards the refs.

Throws it to the faceoff dot. Lots of goalies do that, or leave the puck. No disrespect, you are reading too much into it.

Holy Greg Stutz ( I think that was his name)

Centennial has yet to allow a goal in state tournament play....195 minutes played, 0 Goals against.

These might well be the two best goalies in the state after watching this game. Unbelievable. Instant classic game

On another note, if Wayzata loses this game its gonna be because they are taking all these penalties. They might not give up a goal but their killing any momentum.

The last 8 min should be terrific
