Injury rule question

Post by Busman » Mon Jan 09, 2006 6:29 am

Running time in the 3rd period, 3 minutes left in the game. score is 6-0, a player goes down injured does the clock stop or keep running. Refs indicated to the clock person to keep the clock running is this right?

The player that was down ate up the remaining time in the game. Player got up buzzer went off, end of game. The player injured was on the team that had 0. not that that makes differance. Couldn't a team that was ahead in running time just eat up an entire 3rd period just by faking injuries.

Avoiding real injuries from a team that is losing and taking cheap shots.

No, I watched this happen at an AHA game against Prior Lake and the last 2 1/2 minutes of the game were wasted, I thought Prior Lake played a good game and should have got to finish the game.

Prior Lake played a real good, clean game almost no penalty's for either team. It was a Prior Lake player that went down on the ice. The ref told the clock person to keep the clock going even when the trainer is out on the ice and the ref also whistled the play stopped because this player was down.
But hypothetly couldn't a team just waste any remaining running time by faking injured players on the ice.

The Prior Lake coach looked like he was complaing to the ref's during that time and after the game.
