My Call

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack » Mon Jan 09, 2006 11:19 am

Is it ok if I jump in here or not?

I would have thought that with any injury that they would have stopped the clock, but if you look at the situation I can see why they didn't. 2:25 left, that's about 3 or 4 shifts only and it was a Prior Lake player that went down. I'd let the time run. If more time was remaining or AHA player going down, stop it.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

The "rule" is to stop the clock during an injury.

In a game like this, I don't fault anyone for leaving it run.

There is very little value to any of the conference games AHA play for either side of the coin.

Is there an official rule here?

stopping the clock would have given either team possibly a chance to score. Thus more playing time.

I believe the call is time will stop only for problems with the rink or injury to player, at the discretion of the referee. This may be different for high school.

so you have a good clean game going on and a ref makes a personal opinion on weather to continue play or not.
