Orono and Wayzata move on from D3 to Regions. Mound/Westonka and Delano are fighting for the third spot to Regions at Bantam A.

St. Francis/Irondale and Rogers move on from District 10...four teams still playing for the third seed.

Interesting to see that the two teams locked in to be moving on from D10 are both AA associations that opted down to play A. Shame on D10 for how they are handling this AA/A split.

Yes; shame on district 10. It’s hard to believe they let a powerhouse like St. Francis go single A. My guess is the Duluth East High School is in great fear of their game against St. Francis tonight.

When you look at Irondale's A Pee Wee team from 2 years ago which would make these kids Bantams now they finished 3rd in the district. St Francis Pee Wees 2 years ago finished 4th behind Irondale. Now you combine the two associations and what do you expect to happen. Two AA associations combine to make a A team. Seems a little strange to me. But yet again this is whats supposed to be happening right.

I thought this was pretty cool... of the 8 D3 playoff games played at Bantam A level so far, 5 have gone to OT. Of those 5 OT games... 3 have been tripple OT, 1 double OT, and 1 single OT. That defines parity doesn't it? The #4 seed (Wayzata) and #6 seed (Orono) have locked a regional spot. The #1 seed (Delano), #2 (MoundWestTonka), #3 (Minneapolis), and #5 seed (OMG) are fighting for the third spot. As it turns out, D3 has 6 solid teams and on any given night one can beat the others. Its been a fun tournament to watch so far and more to come.

All AA school size associations and Co-ops had to petition and get approval from Mn Hockey to compete at the A level tournament also Rogers and Andover also dropped from the AA to A this year.

Hermantown loses 4-3 in 4OT to East, East was up 3-0 after 1, tied 3-3 after 2, and stayed that way despite a Hermantown penalty shot in the third OT. Hermantown finishes as #3 seed to regions, east and North Shore play for 1st tomorrow.
