Miracle

Post by petey1321 » Thu Dec 11, 2003 11:44 pm

I just saw the trailer for the new "Miracle" movie about the 1980 hockey team, and it looks awesome.

I noticed Joe Cure, formerly of Holy Angels (one of the Jefferson ship-jumpers, I might add) has a pretty prominent role in the movie, and I can only imagine that they got a couple other Minnesota boys to play some of the midwestern guys. Anybody heard of anyone else we might know of?

Also, Kurt Russell looks just like Herb Brooks. Pretty cool.

I heard that Nate Miller (formerly of Anoka and the Gophers) has a role. Also heard that Buzzy Schneider's (sp?) son in it. Not sure who they play.

Is there somewhere we can go online to see this trailer. Also I heard the cast will be coming here during the all star week when it is premered here somewhere down town. Should be good timing and a great week for hockey here.

I'd pay $10 just to see the trailer again if I had to. It looks like they did an awesome job of capturing the speed and feel of the game. Agree on the goosebumps.
Takes me right back to that time and that night, listening to a scratchy radio broadcast from God knows where. Knowing about it before the rest of the country saw the replay was awesome. Didn't think Kurt Russell could pull off being Herbie, but it sure looks like he does.
If it is as good as it looks, it needs to be shown to as many young kids as possible to boost the sport like the real events did. The sport needs positive publicity again, this should do it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

Wow. Just watched the trailer for the movie and I can't wait until it comes out in Feb. If the movie is half this good it will be an immediate classic for hockey people. Kurt Russell really appears to have captured Herbie's character including the way he spoke and acted. It will be a great tribute to the late Herb Brooks.
