Note I took a quick glance and there are a few missing scores amongst the group (no, literally missing, not merely "out there"). Please check your scores to be sure, thanks.

16 games and 21 competitors this week. Unusually, only 1 game was unanimously picked, so this could be a fun week - or disastrous for some of us.

In the first game, which happens to be the Biggest Game of the Week, Eden Prairie kept their unbeaten streak alive by edging Wayzata 1-0. All but one of us with the correct outcome, but no correct scores.

In the next Lake Conference contest, Edina stung Hopkins 4-1, eschewing the 3-1 score conventional wisdom. Hopkins grabbed the early lead, but the Hornets scored four unanswered goals to pull away. 18 of us foresaw the outcome, but Nordic and Fisheye had better predictive eyes than the rest of us as they also had the correct score.

Breck beat Blake in a barn-burner 5-4, featuring 77 total shots on goal. G. Zumwinkle scored the game winner for Breck with 92 seconds remaining. Three of our panel - wolfman, panpan111, and misterright - were astute enough to see this upset coming. Nicely done.

In another upset, Mahtomedi toppled South St. Paul 3-1, a score most of us are much more comfortable with. Five of us saw that coming, but no correct scores.

In the final game of the evening, Cretin-Derham Hall edged Stillwater 3-2. This was the one unanimous prediction, but closer than most thought. However, hockeymaven, sinbin, MNHockeyFan, Nordic, Fisheye, and and nu2hockey all had the correct score.

After the first night, the standings are as follows:

6 FishEye
5 Misterright, nordic
4 Hockeymaven, MN_Bowhunter, MNHockeyFan, nu2hockey, panpan111, sinbin, wolfman
3 10 others
2 1 other

Special kudos to FishEye and Nordic for getting two correct scores and to misterright for being the only one to pick all 5 contests correctly. When misterright is right, he's right. Good luck the rest of the way.

An evening of upsets that might have some bearing on the scoring. Here we go:

Centennial defeated Dodge County 2-1 in overtime. Only 3 of you were prescient enough to foresee that outcome, but no correct scores.

Lakeville South doubled up Blake 4-2, using three 3rd-period goals to pull away. Again, 3 of you (three different ones) predicted this upset, but no correct scores.

In a game that did go true to our predicted form, Mounds View tied Stillwater 3-3. Our panel had 10 Mounds View, 9 Stillwater, and 2 ties. Congrats to spars46 and newcomer MN_Bowhunter for correctly picking the ties.

In the final game, Proctor-Hermantown defeated Moose Lake 5-2. If Hockey Hub is to be believed, P-H scored all of their goals in the 3rd stanza. While all but 3 of us picked P-H to win, 36Guy was the one guy who also picked the correct score.

Seven games remaining today and tomorrow and the standings are as follows:

8 FishEye
7 nordic
6 Misterright, MN_Bowhunter, nu2hockey, panpan111, wolfman
5 36Guy, Conventional Wisdom, Knight7, MNHockeyFan, sinbin, spars46
4 7 others
3 2 others

Good luck to all.

Just two games on tap tonight.

In game #1, Buffalo doubled up Princeton 4-2. 16 of us predicted a Bison victory while Fisheye's predictive lens was well-focused as he earned another correct score bonus point.

In the second game, Orono and New Prague tied 2-2. In this modern day conflict, I believe initiated by a stolen hockey puck, the Spartans and Trojans battled to a draw. No one in our group predicted the stalemate.

With 5 games remaining, will anyone be able to catch Fisheye, or will he swim safely to victory? Good luck to all.

10 FishEye
7 Conventional Wisdom, MN_Bowhunter, Nordic, nu2hockey, panpan111
6 36Guy, Knight7, Misterright, MNHockeyFan, sinbin, spars46, wolfman
5 5 others
4 4 others

A few surprises last night, but FishEye held on to his insurmountable lead.

In the first game, Minnetonka doubled up Hopkins 4-2. All but one of us picked a Skippers triumph, with panpan111 and sinbin picking up bonus points for the correct score.

The next game was a surprise to all but Knight7 and wolfman as Centennial defeated Blake 5-3. No correct scores.

Hill-Murray trounced Wayzata 6-1. 15 of us picked a Pioneer victory, but no one was close to that score.

Dodge County beat Breck 3-1, scoring two 3rd period goals to pull away with the win. Blondegirlsdad picks up the bonus point for the correct score, using the "3-1" philosophy to his advantage.

In the final game of the evening, this one appears to have been a classic as Edina ended Eden Prairie's unbeaten streak with a 3-2 overtime victory, the Hornets scoring on a power play in the extra stanza. Edina scored two goals very late in the 3rd to send it to overtime. Although a couple of ties were predicted, no one went so far as to predict an Edina win.

After the final Zamboni drives off the ice, we're left with the following standings. Congratulations to FishEye for the fantastic job.

12 FishEye
10 Conventional Wisdom, Knight7, panpan111, sinbin
9 36Guy, spars46, wolfman
8 blondegirlsdad, D6GirlsFan, MN_Bowhunter, MNHockeyFan, Nordic, nu2hockey, The Bone
7 5 others
6 2 others

Look for Week 12 picks later today.

Looks like it was a very exciting, crazy finish to that game. Edina's tying goal came with just 1:03 remaining, then EP was awarded a penalty shot on a delay of game call with just 21 seconds to go. But unfortunately for the Eagles they failed to convert that opportunity, and went on to lose in the OT on a goal by Gopher recruit Taylor Williamson.

It was an interesting game to be sure. And when you're on the wrong side of it, you can guess what I mean.

EP outshot em by a good margin. Should never have gotten that close, Edina's goalie was real solid.
