EP vs Benilde

Post by green4 » Fri Feb 20, 2015 2:39 pm

Benilde is coming off a close game with Holy Family while EP rested.
These teams met twice in the regular season where they spilt.
BSM won 2-1 early in the season, but EP blasted them 5-0 later on.

I hope Benilde wins, but I have a feeling it will be Eden Prairie. Regardless, it should be a close, enjoyable game.

The hub has the game starting at 4 o'clock at Braemar Ice Arena

No doubt, he was really going crazy yesterday. He was hopping around the bench like a kid in a bouncy house

This won't even be close. EP will stomp all over the Knights. Shaky goaltending last night, if that continues, this will be ugly! EP could surprise some in St. Paul!

I refuse to make any Section 6 predictions, but will note EP beat them convincingly a few weeks ago at BSM home ice

I don't blame you, but the trends of these two couldn't be any more different!

I understand EP beat bsm bad 3 weeks ago, but did everyone forget BSM also beat EP in a close game early on in the season? In EPs 5-0 win they scored in the last minute of the game and had a total of 3 power play goals. If bsm can stay out of the box this could be a much closer game than many expect.

True, but that was a long time ago. EP has shown more consistency, discipline and desire since. That showed when they played last, it was 4-0 rip early in the second before goalie was yanked. IF they can stay out of the box, score more than 2 goals and get great D and goalie play, this could be a good game.

MSBN www.msbnsports.net will be streaming 19 of 26 boys section games today. Including both at Braemar.

This should be a good game and I'm glad it's being streamed. Pauly can't keep it in control on the bench and his kids play that way on the ice. A skilled group but undisciplined. EP has it's own flaws. Their D really struggles at times. The goalie goes hot and cold, but is very capable of having a good game as he does have some nice skills. BSM not putting out their lines last gives edge to EP if Smith pays attention.

Pauly's little mushroom bowl cut won't be able to handle the pressure. I say EP wins 5-3

If 20 for EP plays for the section final it will be a miracle.

After nothing happening to Jefferson after their brawl with holy angels do you think the MSHSL will do something about it this time?

20 has to be, if he is not it would be insane.
He was in the penalty box at the end of the game, where he let himself out to join the fight. He took his gloves off, ripped a kids helmet off and proceeded to punch him even after the kid was on the ice.

It looked just like pushing and shoving until EP's goalie decided to come into the mix, even after that when it got sparked up a bit, #20 from EP clearly stood out. He looked like he belonged to the Charlestown Cheifs

It sounds as if the player from EP, a public school, was the main culprit. Not sure what you mean by this?
