I had doubts against Andover in the first round of sections. I had big doubts about Grand Rapids in the section semi final. I had HUGE doubts against Elk River in the section final. I was just happy to see them at state today.

ALL of these doubts are gone now. This team can beat anybody in the state. This team can win a state championship this year.

THEY. ARE. GOOD.

They will beat Edina.

I swear to god I have no idea how they keep winning. Every playoff game I have found myself using my Legion coaches favorite one off - "WOW!" Not in a good way. This team really isn't that talented it doesn't seem like... but they keep winning! I don't know what to say but I will just enjoy it. When they win battles to the puck they win games, bottom line.
Go Hounds.

Thank you Mike Randolph and kids for two unbelievable comeback wins!

The Hounds have a net winning record against Hornets in all state tourney head to heads.

But, the Hornets got this one by 3 goals or more

Hornets, running time. STA was sloppy. Turned over puck like crazy. Edina won't do that.

Just a minor adjustment.

Hornets, running time. STA was sloppy. Goalie kicked every rebound right in front of net. Edina goalie won't do that.

Heart attack hounds by a goal if howg has a better game than he did yesterday and the D can bottle up edina. Redlgardless of the outcome, the hounds have proven they can play with the big boys.

Good luck to the hounds. And much like bemidji yesterday, I'm sure most of the arena will be on your side!!

DE's improbable, impressive comeback wins against ER & STA... and Slammers quote above...brings to mind a memorable quote from the movie Thelma & Louise:

Max: You know, the one thing I can't figure out, are these girls real smart or real real lucky?

Hal Slocumb: Don't matter. Brains'll only get you so far and luck always runs out.

Best of Luck tonight against Edina...this former Superior Spartan will be rooting for DE! Win tonight...and EVERYBODY will become a BELIEVER in the Hounds!

Edina has shown that they can take shifts off and be sloppy at times. Duluth East definitely has a chance!

There was a lot of sloppy goals by STA and DE yesterday... I think this game will be a lot tighter defensively.

I take the hounds 3-2 in another OT thriller.

sorry about this, "cake walk".

Oh there is no running time in tournament championship round. TV dictates the timeout.

Too lazy to scroll back, but whoever is asking how DE keeps winning, it seems pretty simple to me. Coaching, TEAM defense, and timely goaltending. Looking back at the top seed upsets in playoffs and at the X, one or all of these factors play in. I would include in the coaching part, instilling in the team both the will and heart to play together to win. Top to bottom talent isn't in DE favor, but some of the other factors might be.

Any word on if Dylan Malmquist is playing? He was taken off the ice early in the 3rd yesterday and I don't believe he ever returned.
