Duluth East Forecheck

Post by agate88 » Sat Mar 07, 2015 12:48 am

Has anyone ever seen a forecheck with both D and a F stacked across the offensive blueline at the high school level. Also, it seems East's D are not afraid to consistently ice the puck. Interesting style of play.

I was wondering the same thing and wondering, also, why nobody had brought it up yet on this Bored. Comments?

2-3 forecheck. Working well for East! Key...the 2 "low" forwards hVe got to forecheck real hard, which East is doing.

That is exactly it. You have to have the personnel to pull this off and make it work.

The modified 2-3 Randolph put together last night was ingenious. The D-men usually pinch and that is what Edina preys on for odd man rushes. They just held the zone instead and the winger was flat footed. The success was predicated on the back check of the 2 low forwards coming back hard! The magic man works it again!

My youth coach introduced this 2-3 forecheck to us 45 years ago. Old school is great!
