They are playing in the U15B league. They just happen to be picking up some A games, not uncommon at this level. I would find it hard to believe that they would opt up for the playoffs - if this is even possible.

Brainerd would be a top 5 team in the state if they did a true A team. They would be equal with Roseau and would battle for state.

Their split team just lost to Roseau 10-0.

Is that a fair reflection of "the story" to date? Seven games into the season, and the other 6 games for that "split team" were a two goal differential or less. Record is 4-3.

Interesting debate on the relative merits of team formation philosophies, but it seems only fair to consider the complete picture at any point in time.

For sure. Its the only score I have seen. It could have been "one of those days" and much closer than it appears. It might also be a different story two months from now than it is today, as you point out. One split team could also be slightly better than the other, who knows. You are correct, small sample size for sure.

Cake Eater tourney...

Post by massalsa »

Saw a handful of teams play on Friday & Sunday eve. Trojan, #1 Hornet, OMG, Skipper, & Eastview. Each of those top 4 teams has some nice players. Did not see Anoka but was told by a couple of people whom I respect that they are a nice, BIG, team.

The Trojan and Crimson seemed nicely balanced as there was not really any stand out player like #9 on Edina (F) & #6 on Tonka (D). Several other nice players on all teams but when #9 & #6 decided it was go time with the puck they made things happen.

Hornet over Trojan 3-2 in championship and Skipper over Crimson (supposedly minus their best D...only 3 D playing) 4-3 in the 3rd place game.

Not that sneaky. A really good goalie, a couple good defensemen, and a couple fast forwards to compliment a kid that many touted as the best 12u player of the summer.

Did she play 12U all summer in AAA or was she an 02 that played just one 12U AAA tourney then her team moved up? Just curious how young this girl is you speak of...

how bout an update???

Is U15 hockey still alive?

Virtually zero coverage, news, posts, or talk from my limited point of view...

Someone has to be angry about something that a Green coach did or said after a loss? Or some bad blood between the Tornado and some other north suburban team?

Maybe there is a player out there in the U15 universe that you (as someone who maybe has seen a handful or a bunch of games) think could or would make a huge splash in the HS ranks next year? Or even could/should have this year in HS?

Is there is a U12 kid that should make the jump to HS next year?

Is there a U15 team that could beat the local HS JV team? Or could beat 1/2 or more of the JV teams in the town's HS conference?

Or how about a JV team or kid or two (be vague if you need or want to) that you strongly feel should have had kids play U15 RATHER than JV?

How about something!!!

Nice holiday weekend 15UA tournament in Brainerd to ring in the new year, the inaugural Legacy Cup. A few surprises perhaps, nice showing by several outstate teams and competitive hockey for the most part. Results here:

It didn't read as a promotion of the Made or Machine, but of the individual team and why this group is successful.

It was a solid move for the team. It was a win win for both OS and the players. It was wise for OS to send the invite.

Why did you leave the Blades for IC and then IC for OS? Or WBL for St. Paul and then St. Paul for FL. How long will you be at FL? Will it be until you find out the net will be shared or it won't be your daughters at all? Will you go back to seeking out private schools? My bet is that it will be where ever the grass looks greener?

The entire team or just a few like what happened with several Blades kids moving to 01 OS?

Is that O1 OS team still a team or does it dissolve into different Whitecaps teams this year?
