Who knows. Signing with Austin doesn't stop him from playing in the USHL. He was drafted by Sioux Falls in the USHL draft, so they own his rights. At the same time, the gap between The NAHL and USHL isn't as big as some people think. Also, the coach of Austin said that he will get top six forward minutes, which he might not get in the USHL.

He was dropped by Sioux Falls so he is no longer their property. He is free to be drafted or signed this spring. Is probably a kid who is drafted later in drafts and brought into camp, doesn't make it and goes and plays a year in the NAHL and develops and then plays in the USHL the following year.

I think this happens a lot. Kids get picked up in the USHL draft and when room is needed on affiliates list they drop them and they go back into the draft pool. I think this happened with Fellows from Prior Lake too.
