Pioneers v Lumberjacks
Thoughts on this game between manly nicknamed teams?
The City of Hill Murray is beautiful this time of year
I don't know if they ever met in regular season.WestMetro wrote:When was last time these two met in reg season?
Is Rocky back in lineup? Staum is back for Pioneers
Two good goaltenders
Both have good Section 8 talent (helgeson)
One goal game, could go either way. I'll go for the home team
Gone all weekend, so not sure if Copiskey is back or not.
Everyone else is healthy unless something happened at practice.

Yes, the Jacks (when healthy and playing as a team) are very good.Sats81 wrote:Is this your serious prediction?elliott70 wrote:5-1 good guys
After watching Edina play horrendously against Minnetonka, I am of the opinion that they are in the mix with anyone. Hill kids have to get on the bus this afternoon and sit in it for a long ride. That will take a toll. The Jacks bring 3 lines of speed and have 5 very good D with one of them being one of the best in the state. The ? after last year was can they get the goaltending. The guy this year is only a soph but he is the best that's been here since Fallon and maybe longer.
I know I am a homer like every other guy on here, but if I am confident it is because I have seen these young guys perform.
Other than Benilde I have seen the best in the metro and GR and DE. It will be a good game but in the end the Jacks will have rested legs against a 4 hour bus ride.
The rink will be packed (and loud) so get there early.
Good luck to the Pioneers (my favorite private since the days of Dave Langevin - despite my best fiend Pistol (J/K)).

Schedule
When I saw the schedule come out, this was a game I was really hoping I could make the road trip up to watch. I'm curious to see how Hill responds after a beat down at the hands of the Ponies.
This is an important game for the Pioneers. I expect them to come out like gangbusters. This is a fun game for them, they know not to take this one lightly and they know they need to start rounding into shape right now. Expect a big game from #22 in green.

Looks like they've only met twice in the regular season. '85/'86 (6-3 HM win) and '86/'87 (5-2 HM win in Bemidji)WestMetro wrote:When was last time these two met in reg season?

HM - Bemidji
Road teams are 8-6 in the HM - Moorhead series over the past 14 years. HM has won their last 5 games in Moorhead. I don't think the long bus ride hurts.

Likely makes some difference. Riding on I-94 is a lot easier than taking the goat paths up to Bemidji.stpaul wrote:Road teams are 8-6 in the HM - Moorhead series over the past 14 years. HM has won their last 5 games in Moorhead. I don't think the long bus ride hurts.

Would you give northern MN some credit? We don't have goat paths anymore. We upgraded to gravel roads two years ago...mnmouth wrote:Likely makes some difference.
