Loosely defining the "top" as top 100 so they can include Gophers in the headline.

And they conveniently leave out Staum (159) and Perunovich (161) who both higher ranked defensemen than Rossini (195).

I think if bellows goes at number 10, he will be the highest Minnesotan since Phil Housely at number six. Am I right?

Mattson 51?

He did not impress me at the state tourney. I wonder if it's based on his size, or he was just way off in the tourney. I wouldnt touch him though.

I believe this is Alec Baer's draft year.

Jack Walker put up 84 points in 72 games. His second time through the draft, shouldn't numbers like that get you selected? Crazy production.
Be kind. Rewind.

Baer's draft year was last year and Walker's was two years ago.

Nope. Wheeler was a year ahead. Mueller, of course, never made it to campus.

EDIT: Here's the list of every Minnesotan taken in the first round.

George Pelawa was drafted in the first round in 1986?.

Somewhere around 16, I think.

He didn't do well in his stint in the USHL either.

Walker came to the wild's developmental camp last summer and he was one of the better players out there. Someone will take a chance on him eventually.

He's really shot up the last couple years! Did he switch from D to forward? Read something about most goals for a Dman but see him listed as a forward.
