Your AA is the same except switching ER/Z & EAGAN..that's cool

Class A

Blake has: Bizal,McClanahan,Burton,Daniel,Burton,Delianedis,Wethington, Vojta.... We are talking about class A where if you have 2 good players you are top 10. No other class A school has that much talent, and frankly except for a select few AA schools
..

Breck at three maybe too high, but:Zumwinkle,Williamson,Billing,Beniek,Mobley , with new goalie they are still a top class A

SPU lost Hansen also..

Since this is a pre-season list CDH & Eastview probably belong, but by year end they might not ...that"s why this is entertaining

FLAKE lost best 2 players (including goalie) ...considering that plus 11 of their wins were against teams with losing records plus another 2 wins against out-state teams who would struggle to win a combined 5 wins in Mn.....it will be interesting how they do this year, but for a pre-season poll, they would probably fall outside the top 10-15.
1 Edina Lost in Sections Goaltending questions.
2 MG Lost in Semis Probably should be #1
3 Blaine 16 Seniors
4 Centennial Two U18 Members
5 ER/Z Lost to FL in Sections GWG scored by 8th grader
6 Hill Lost 6 D1 Players Will not be as strong this year
7 Eagan Solid up and down the lineup
8 EP Defending State Champs should be higher
9 CDH - Sleeper pick Added Olivia Garrity really only 1 open Varsity spot
Tie - Eastview, Forest Lake Both in State Tournament No Love.
FL 1st three games MTKA, Duluth, Breck,

Okay, am I missing something, or are the above comments wrong.

Edina lost in semis, not sections,
MG lost in finals, not semis

H987, you are correct , zd suffers from u12beer-goggles

Inigo..I don't think Holy Family/Waconia is playing class A..together they have 1400+ students , plus isn't this the off- year for class re-alignment

How do you get that?? Remove their conference schedule and they play against:
Chaska Chan (AA)
Shakopee (AA)
St. Paul United
Hopkins/St Louis Park (AA)
CEC (AA)
Duluth Marshall
Eden Prairie (AA)
BSM (AA)
Totino Grace

Looks like a AA schedule to me.

I'm back for another great season of Girls High School Hockey!
My thoughts on the 5 teams that matter:
1. Maple Grove...Wente was as good as anyone in the state last year. This team just seems to have the will to win. Great goaltending with a supporting cast should lead the to the Championship game again this year.
2. Edina...A solid group of girls that have a great balance of scoring, defense, & goaltending. Bowlby & Oden will lead this team to play MG in the Championship game in St. Paul.
3. Blaine...This team will try find its way back to the State Tournament lead by the "Phenom" Ramsey Parent, Auman, Beebe, & Brown. Great depth & skill.
4. HM...Everyone is counting them out. Graduated some talent but the cupboard is not bare! Lead by Boreen, Featherstone, & Blinkhorn up front they will be forced to score more than the last few years! Ava Bailey is considered one of the best young goalies in the State and she will be protected by Keopple & Wemple on D. This is a team that plays a tough schedule that will once again find itself in St Paul in Feb.
5.Centennial...Hughes & Linser, & Peck will lead this pesky group to another successful season only to lose to Blaine in the Sections.

For AA:

Farmington v. Lakeville South
Eden Prairie v. Tonka
Eastview v. Apple Valley
Hill-Murray v. White Bear Lake
Centennial v. Maple Grove
Edina v. Cretin-Derham
Forest Lake v. Elk River (additional prediction: if sections remain the same, the next four years this answer will be Andover v. Forest Lake, with the winner winning state at least 1 time).
St. Cloud v. Roseau

I flipped a coin between Centennial and Blaine, no real preference.

I like Snodgrass and the Apple Valley goalie.

As for WBL, I just looked at the section. They were really young last year and have some very, very good skaters as well as a very good goalie.

I think the top four in the section are HM, WBL, MV, and STW. It wouldn't shock if MV made the Section final, but they will need time to adjust to Brodt's departure. STW re-grouping will also be fun to watch.

Apple valley??? No chance. I know its only a scrimmage and its very early but East Ridge smoked Eastview up in Grand rapids this weekend 5-0. Again im sure both teams were moving players around but Snodgrass was on the ice for Eastview. Section 3AA is a 3 way race between Eagan, East Ridge, and Eastview.

NWC? Is this another one of those 9th grade weighted expectations? They were 9-15-1 last year. Sartell isn't getting much respect; I understand they lost a really good goalie, but return a lot of scoring. St Cloud doesn't look to field a JV this year.

I was told that Sartell was handled easliy this weekend by Stillwater and Blake but beat Elk River? Someone that was there would have to verify. Never know how many JV players are playing so grain of salt as always with these scrimmages.

Not sure if Sartell was handled easily. I didn't watch their other games that closely. They did win 1-o over Elk River with 4 of Elk Rivers top players sitting that game including two D1 commits and there were at least three eighth graders playing. The coach was looking at where everyone will fit and I don't think he was too concerned with the scores.

Exactly why the grain of salt...never know who is playing and who isn't and even lines are experimental, etc. Thanks for the actual update with knowledge, its appreciated. Coaches know what they have with the top returners and want to get looks at others.
